GO/KMA disconnect from Store Issues?

Whats the biggest Disconnect in your store?

Seems with recently competition changes the only solution to save money is less staff/be more productive....

How about eliminating Sales Ads........ why do we need a sales add that is 10 pages+  (95%+ of customers don't even look at the thing)

How about eliminating weekly price changes of Checkout Candy, set the price for 1 period and update shelf strips with pricing to instead of individual tags.

Case Ready Items, what ever happened to no hand stacking? If it comes in a tray......is on the shelf in the tray?

Centralized production of Deli/Bakery product and then shipped to store..... with Fresh Kitchen items already being shipped to stores daily/every other day why are we not Baking/Preping Deli Food there too?

*****More productive for one person to Auto Slice 500lbs of Turkey daily then 50 stores to manually slice 10 lbs daily  x 10 varieties

Marketplace Apparel Departments - Clothing is too expensive and cheap, if its always 50% off we dont need to be in that business.

Kroger stop wasting money!!!

GREAT IDEAS!!!  HELLO you Kroger corporate people, will you read this?

other ideas........

Cut down on TV ads.......Kroger spends millions of dollars on local TV ad spots, and nearly everybody who shops at Kroger already knows they are there!  Such as huge waste of money.

STOP WASTING HUGE amounts of money on constantly changing cardboard displays and signage!!

Stop changing uniforms and aprons!  Stick to ONE basic, decent, good-quality attractive uniform and have it used in all stores across the country.

Keep prices at a uniform level..........keep items at the same price for as long as possible, (stability!!) and save HUGE amounts of money on printing off those stickers, cards, signs, and mailing them every week to thousands of stores.  Prices going up and down and up and down and up and down weekly is SUCH a huge waste of money when it is is NOT TRULY NECESSARY on so many of Kroger's products. Not to mention all the time spent in updating computer systems with the current prices.

Yeah, the wholesale price may go up and down a little, but not as much as Kroger tries to pretend it does............they would STILL save money if they would cut back on all the wasted cardboard, stickers, plastic-coated sheets of signs, a huge amount of money is spent for this kind of stuff every week.   Not to mention they could save on labor costs (for price changing which gobbles up so many hours) and concentrate on other types of labor where the customer is Directly served and helped in many ways.

Because if they did that, us bakers would be out of a job.  You also have more control over product quality when you bake it at store level.  Just because something is being made at one central location doesn't mean the quality is going to be good.

Fresh kitchen can't even arrive on time so there would be no product to put on the shelf...

Plus they still have to make the salads in the deli out of the fresh kitchen kits.

That would put a lot of us out of work... Don't give them any ideas. Lol

Near elimination of dairy and frozen markdown space.  Instead of recouping some revenue, let's throw away money and waste food.

Brilliant.
