At my store we're given around 12 hours a week. Once in a while we get 20+ hours. Around Thanksgiving/Christmas we were given more hours (I know it's because of the holidays). Even when school is out we get around 12 hours. I'm not complaining I was just curious if it's like this at different stores ...
Yeah, there are definitely rules in some states that place limitations on how many/what hours a minor can/can't work. Also though, it's been my experience that Kroger has a tendency to slash hours in general over the summer and that, combined with school kids/those in college opening up their availabilities for the summer months, means fewer hours to go around... especially on, say, the front end, which tends to have the most employees.
