How long have you been working for Kroger? Your first day is the first day you worked for them. You're on probation for 30-90 days depending on department and if they put an extension or not on your probation. Until a Union Rep comes to you and has you sign the contract, they are able to let you go for any reason, at anytime. Union usually doesn't do this until 30-45 days after the day you started.

Actually, it depends on several things........what day did you tell Kroger you would be available to actually work in the store (of you told them), what initial day in that week the dept head needs you, also the scheduling might be tweaked in the last two or three days of the week before it is finalized (supposed to be by Saturday evening at 6:00).

You might actually start working within a day or two of the completion of your computer training classes/courses, or they might wait and put you starting on a Monday or Tuesday of the following week. In any case, sometimes your scheduled hours may not appear on the actual schedule online (and printed schedule on the wall at the store) for the first week or two, until little details are worked out.  Sometimes there might be a line on the schedule "reserved" for your position and hours, but not with your name on it until they are sure you will be showing up and are actually going to work out.

All you have to do is search Kroger. One of the choices, for this site, is 'Kroger Forum'. Another choice is 'Why Kroger sucks".  You don't need to be employed by Kroger to get on this website.

It is EXTREMELY easy to "accidentally" find this message board when searching google or any search engine like Bing. All you have to do is type in just two keyword, such as:   KROGER  TERRIBLE,   KROGER  AWFUL,   KROGER CORRUPT,   KROGER BAD, and this discussion forum will show up usually within the TOP SIX results of a google search.

This is propbably how some employees have stumbled onto this!!!

I'm still surprised how few employees actually read this forum, considering the hundreds of thousands of workers there are that are employed by Kroger.

Just out of curiosity, have any of you guys asked around casually at your store, and got a 'feel" for what percentage of fellow employees even know about this forum, or who have ever read it or posted on it?  Just curious.........I doubt if more than 20% of  Kroger employees are aware of it.

I asked when I first found out about it. Every single one of them said they had never heard of it. I told them how I found it. I honestly think a few are on here. Actually I believe one of the managers of the store I work at gets on here a lot.
