to scan each one? And without having to transfer the order to the attendant station?
For example.. those god damn koolaid packets.
At my store, there is a function on the screen at the uscan. It is a hidden button in the upper right hand corner. Lets you put in a multiplier and scan the item.
Not really sure how it works but have seen it used a few times.
Yeah, my store has has made it so only a very select few products can be used with the Quantiy function, and I've tried this both at the regular registers (touch screen) and Uscan.
The koolaid packets are not able to use the quantity function. The only product so far that I've been able to use the quantity function is ramen noodles.
Quantity Key is only able to be used for Quantities of 12 or more, but shouldn't really be used because of Inventory. How often to customers buy 12 of the exact same item? (Flavor, Size and everything else the same)
Wow, I had no idea you had to use a number of 12 or more. I just tried it and it worked. I was able to scan 12 cans of beer for a customer. This will come in handy the next time a customer come in with like 40 koolaid packets at the Uscan.
I've been able to use quanitity at less than 12. So i suppose each store has the registers set up differently. For invetory, you simply need make sure the quantity number is the amount of all the same item. By same meaning size, brand, flavor, etc. So if a customer came up with 6 cases of pepsi 12 packs but each one is a different flavor then you cant use quantity or it'll look like they bought 6 cases of one flavor and will mess up inventory.
As for koolaid though, I have some customers literally just bring the box of them. Just count out each flavor and quantity each flavor. So if someone has a mix of Grape (say you counted 6) and Tropical Punch (counted 8), you would hit quantity 6 then scan the grape then quantity 8 and scan the tropical punch.
Works great for canned vegetables too on a huge order but always make sure they are all the same.
As mentioned above you can use the attendant menu on the SCO for quantity or on your handheld show up the SCO you are on and hit the Function button. Should have quantity listed there.
