Department head training

So I'm going to the program in a few weeks, but I have a wedding I have to be in (dad is remarrying) but my email says I have to work an identical shift with my trainer... What's the odds I'd be able to have the weekend off? I have to drive a few states away so it's not like I can pop there and back in a day.

Just ts wanted to know if anyone else has gone through the program and thinks I have a chance. I tood my store manager when he signed me up for t that I needed that weekend off. It's kind of something I have to go to as well.

If you're going into the same type of program I did, you might be ok. I was in a store for training for 4 weeks and did a couple shifts on the day my training manager was off. I had to do a lot of computer work anyway and then the rest of the time I would help her fill the floor.

Thats actually kind of a good thing. Three and a half years ago, when I got the Meat dept head position, I got a firm handshake of congrats and then I had to figure it out on my own...

You should be fine.....

When I was promoted, my training was 1 week....turned into 2 days...

While it sounds good to have a "Training Program" I can tell you nothing in a Program is going to make you ready for the unknowns of daily store life!

It's a four week program, you should be OK. Just talk to your trainer.
