Instead of raising a stink about how passive/aggressively nasty my immediate co-workers are to me, I decided to throw in the towel and give my 2 weeks notice. Things were getting really uncomfortable and the few times I hinted that there was a problem, I was blown off. One woman in particular made no bones about how much she dislikes me and she was doing things intentionally to make my job harder on me. My co-workers could see it but they turned away or laughed when it happened. Literally hours before I could give my written notice, I got injured pretty significantly (freak accident) and I've been given medical leave for a week. Management still wants me to put in my two weeks once I come back but I'm not sure that's going to happen.
I'm considering this a lesson learned. Maybe I'd have done better if I'd come in hung over, played on my phone during my shift, and participated in the back-stabbing and gossip. It seems that's what's considered acceptable at my store. It sucks because I love my job, I just believe that while I'm on the clock, I should actually be working.
Sounds like my store.. Kroger needs to invest in training its employees how to work together. and get rid of the ones that make fun of other employees swear at them just to build them up.
Cone back as a customer and be a major bitch to those who wronged you. Or get a friend to do it. Karma is a bitch that can and WILL co me back even WORSE
Oh and this is nice. After I came back to Kroger from the doc, at management request, (instead of going to get my pain meds, etc.) they guilt tripped me into agreeing to ride out my two weeks after my medical restrictions are lifted. Guess who isn't on the schedule that just came out? I've got two days on schedule this coming week but nothing 9/24-9/30. I was going to do the right thing and keep my word but screw 'em. I'm not going back.
*edited because commas and correct dates just make sense.
