How does the transfer process work from a kroger grocery store to a kroger fuel station?  My lead had me write how I wish to be transferred to store # and my explanation for it.  This info came from my Grocery manager.  Then my request is given to my store manager from my lead.  Is this how it's supposed to go?  My grocery manager is dense as ****, so I don't take anything he says too seriously.

At my store, you have to do an unbelievably bad job in your department. Continuously. Then, you are transferred to fuel center so the store can be rid of you.

To get out there deliberately?  I'm not really sure.  I think you need the store manager's blessing, with most other factors being irrelevant. It might actually be easier to quit and be rehired as fuel centerif there's a vacancy.

If its the same store, its as simple as just scheduling you out there.....is there our hours available. (Well if they want you to go out there)

I'm having to change my location due to the lack of hours. I'm only getting one day there next week, and I've talked to my lead, head, and grocery manager telling them how I can't live off of the hours that they're giving me. Both my lead and grocery manager say my hours have been cut because we're over staffed, yet we're hiring for over night stockers. Doesn't make sense, but since I've been reading posts on the site, I get the gist about why kroger does this. I just want our of the store all together. I'd really like to get out of Kroger entirely since they're a scummy corporation, but I don't have too many options. Anyway, it's a huge decrease in pay since I'm working at $11.50 + I get a $1 more for the night premium. I'll be making $8.25 at the fuel station, but it's over nights, the manager says I'll get "full time" hours, and it's two blocks away from my house. So, it's convenient. Also, I won't have to go to training which is an hour away.

why would you go from 11.50 to 8.25? are you in the union. just because you move to fuel center doesn't mean you should take a pay cut. I believe if you work in another department then get transferred to fuel center, you should still be able to keep everything as far as pay and benefits. check your contract and don't let these fools screw you.

Thanks, I found this odd too. I figured since I'm not getting the hours since they only schedule me one to two days a week that in the end I'll still be making more at $8.25. In fact, a manager whom was doing the interviews for the fuel station and I did the math, and it comes out to be way more than I'm making now. I'm trying to remember if I'm a part of the union. I shredded my contract without thinking about any of this, but on my pay stubs it doesn't look like I'm paying any union dues. I started my current position at the beginning of July, too, so maybe this is why I'm not seeing anything from them. Either way, I plan on going to my current store tomorrow to talk to my store manager about it all and to get another copy of my contract. I heard that if your job title is wrong then your pay doesn't transfer either. Not sure if mine is or not, but at express hr it says that I'm a grocery overnight/clerk. Maybe stocker is cut off though. I definitely shouldn't be titled as a clerk since our store closes at 11pm.

I really wanna say that I'm not a part of the union. Would not being with them effect my pay then?
