Pricing - 2 for $4.00, etc

Is it just me, or does anyone else get tired of all the pricing "gimmicks" going on all the time at Kroger.  2 for $1.00, 3 for $5,  2 for $5,  10 for 10 dollars, etc. It gets SO annoying. Why doesn't Kroger make everything as simple and up-front as possible for the customers?  Sometimes it confuses customers, and not always just the ones who are "bad at math".

I would respect any company SO much more if they just had regular, ordinary prices like "1.00 each" or "$2.50 each" or whatever, stated clearly on the price tags and signs.

2 for five sounds better than 2.50. Also most people think you have to buy two to Get the sale prices

 Exactly!

Kroger is into capitalizing on customer psychology (it 'sounds' better!)

Kroger is deceptive. (Customers wrongly "think" something because Kroger wants them to be confused).

Kroger stinks.

In many cases, that's true.  If a tag says, "Buy 5 save $5.00" you have to buy five in order to get the discount.  You can't just buy one and save a dollar.

They make bank on the stupidity of the customers.

A lot of old people will actually buy 10 of the "10 for $10" items.

Also, with the Mega Events and soda sales, a lot of the time you actually do have to purchase specific quantities.  It's confusing.

I hate it.  We're drowning in old tags, so things get very stupid very quickly.

what pisses me off (as a customer) is when I had 2 items on "buy 4 save 4" then found progresso soup with the red tag.  Sweet, I'll grab 2 of those, have my 4 items and leave.  Wrong.  I see a sign on the endcap of progresso "when you buy 8"  yeah, that's not confusing at all.  They need to do those sales separately.  I didn't buy 8, I didn't buy 4 (I put all the items back), got my milk and left.  I can't be the only 1.  It's ok if the mega sale actually has lots of items to choose from, but this one didn't have many eye popping deals so I didn't buy anything
