Natural foods. What are they? Why do they have a department and why can't I find this department anywhere?

they stock all of the organic items, like simple truth, amys soup, red mills, annies, almond milk, and a bunch others i can't think of. from what I understand they're merging natural foods with grocery in every store, eliminating the position entirely. we never had to stock a single organic item, and now we have to do it all. our natural foods department is down to 2 people, and i'm surprised they haven't been transferred to grocery yet.

They are considered Grocery.  They are no longer part of Produce technically.  At least that is what I thought all stores were changing them to.

Natural foods (or nutrition, or Nature's Market) is where all the stuff marketed as "natural" and "organic" to bilk scientific illiterate chemophobes out of money, as well as any other health fad. In my store they have the bulk wall on the opposite side of produce's salad wall and the first two aisles after the kitchenware. They're a subdepartment of grocery and we have *maybe* four people who specifically work it.

Everyone is so worried about preservatives in everything.  My way of thinking is if they preserve the food, then maybe they'll help preserve me.

Natural Foods as a Department is being eliminated, its just considered a Grocery sub area now. But thinking about that, if they do keep a Lead Position, it should be considered a Dairy/Frozen pay scale!

Here it is 2020, my store still has a natural  foods department and I am the lead. We have 4 half-aisles plus the bulk food wall, and it's just me and a part-time employee working it. I could surely use some extra help though; we do 50-60k per week!
