Getting written up for make it right program no refund slips
Permalink

The make it right program is honoring customers by allowing us freedom to give them they price they say it is. The book keeper keeps getting me i. Trouble for using this program because there is no refund slip attached to it. The computer does not print one but it shows up in book keeping as a refund instead of price override. They are writing me up for honoring the make it right program. When I fight customers they get fussy and beyond rude. Now what?  Im calling the union but addition advice would be nice.

So you aren't actually doing refunds?

I "make it right" all day long because I'm sick of arguing with customers, and I've never gotten any grief about it.

If management started giving me a hard time about it, I would just call for a manager every single time there was a price discrepancy and maybe even have them sign a reprinted receipt.

I've never found the union to be anything but useless, so good luck there.

Are putting in the correct reason code?

Whatever happened to calling for a price check?  If this is the new Kroger policy, I'm going to pick up a bunch of ribeye steaks and tell the cashier the price is only suppose to be 10 cents a pound.

I only do a price check, or call for the floor supervisor, when the price difference is bigger than $5. Alcohol, I always walk over there with the customer to see if the price they saw matches what they said. Items that have a special price when you buy a certain amount, I always tell them they gotta buy that amount (and they always back down for some reason) to get that price.

On a typical day, I probably do about 10 to 15 price overrides. Some price overrides involve a situation where an item was buy one get one free, and I've had to make the second item $0 (rare, but it happens once in a while). Others have been because a store or co-manager has instructed me to do so. Haven't been written up ever.

Make sure your hitting VOID not Refund and then "Price Override" within a translation. There would not be a slip because the refund slip prints out the bottom of the customer receipt.

I am going to make all management sign a slip that they must be present when I do all refunds regardless of the amount.  Then sign the refund slip and watch me put it in the drawer.  Some how they are going stray and I'm being ridicule for a lie and slander.  This will hopefully protect me.
