Work/Life Balance

I am a department head on nights. I like my job. It's not bad. I find myself behind all the time lately. I have missed far too many days due to lack of sleep or illness. How do I balance everything? I really need a clone or two but that isn't possible.

There isn't a work/life balance anymore in the stores for any Department Assistant/Lead or Store Management position. While HR will tell you there is, why are people quitting? stepping down? Work is your life...... (which wasn't horrible 3-4 years ago, now do more with nothing).

I would say the same for average clerks at times too. Unless you have a restricted schedule it is definitely hard to balance all the work and other commitments.

Disagree!  I am able to do it!  But then again, we have a good crew in frozen and **** gets done.  Alot of good communication and people not making excuses.

And that is a very big exception to the rule. Which it shouldn't be this way, given how long Kroger has been in business. As I know at my store, some of the things they do or decide on, makes it seem like it's the first day on the job for the managers. Which shouldn't be the case at this point.

Work/life balance at Kroger is a bold-faced lie.  Just like "competitive wages" and all that other garbage.

Consider it a sign that it might be time to start thinking about moving on.
