How detailed do doctor notes have to be
Permalink

So... I had a leave of absence. How detailed does my doctor's notes have to be? HR won't release me because they need a weight requirements in detail. Won't release me to work new position where I lift nothing. Doctors left their numbers for further questions yet I have to get the information? Why is this?

they have to know what your limitations are to know if your able to perform your job tasks. if they feel you cannot perform your job tasks with your restrictions then they can tell you to come back after your restrictions are lifted if it's a non work related

Ask your HR-Assistant Manage for your job description, then have your doctor sign off on the job description. While "regular work" normally required little heavy lifts, your "job requirements" might be to lift 50lbs at times.

Because of HIPPA laws, the only thing that a Dr. can say is that you are under their care and when you be able to return with restrictions, and then later able to return with no restrictions. Under no time, unless its is a workers comp claim, is the employer allowed to what condition you are something from
