Just doesn't seem fair!

OK! So people are going to start getting wrote up for having to work overtime, because others aren't doing their jobs. Why?  I don't have time to do others jobs and do mine. Why not write those up who aren't doing their jobs, or are showing up late, or calling in all the time.  I had to work overtime because someone showed up late, and then had to go home. Then the next day couldn't come to work because they were in the hospital. I'm just making sure my job is done. I have to do theirs before I can do mine. When working by myself, I'm doing the job of 2 or 3 people. I'm not going to get it done on time.   It just doesn't seem fair that the ones who want to make sure their jobs are done get wrote up.

That's why I ONLY worry about myself and the work I must do. When I was a cc, if the next person did a no show and their carts/sweep/go back hour didn't get done, so what? I just did my own. Because last time I tried covering others my work got behind and I got bitched at. So that's when I decided to let others work go to hell, and I cover MYSELF and ONLY MYSELF.

It might not be fair, but Kroger is stingy and labor is their biggest cost

I would suggest you continually seek guidance and keep your managers in the loop with what your doing and getting accomplished. If they tell you no OT, just finish up your task before your shift it over and walk out the door. I have worked in environment where NOT OT and use OT when needed. If they want no OT and your busting your ASS.....walk out the door and don't worry about it.

I always let management know. They know the reason why before i tell them I'm going to work OT, but they still seem to have an issue.
