Irritating Kroger feed songs I can't identify
Permalink

I keep trying to find out who sings these  2 songs (and the name of the song) but I am not having any luck. Our intercom has lousy quality sound to begin with, along with the fact that these songs are sung by "noise pollution makers' (uh, I mean 'singers") who make no effort AT ALL to clearly enunciate any words, so the lyrics are mostly unintelligible.

1)  All I can understand is a bunch of verses ALL ending with words or phrases containing a "long I" such as "the sunshine'  "the moonlight" "this time" "sometime" "right" and others..... a very repetitive sound, like the songwriter didn't know that any words existed with other vowel sounds in the last syllable.  It has been on the playlist for at least 2 to 3 years, if not longer!!  WHAT IS IT??

2) I think I am hearing "best of intentions" but it is not the Travis Tritt country song.  Very shrill, tinny, irritating voice (obviously Auto-Tuned), noticeable lisping on consonant "S",  Most of the song repeats something to do with "INTENTIONS" and then comes a loud, obnoxious HIGH note, he or she (?) might think they are hitting the note well, but it comes across as screaming, not singing, to my ears. I almost like fingernails on the blackboard better

Any ideas?

Yeah, that's it.  Thank you.  I know I'm particular about what type of music I find enjoyable or pleasant to listen to, but that is my definition of "noise pollution" or "PURE CRAP".    Checking Wikipedia's entry on Mutemath, the song wasn't listed in their singles discography, and none of their songs have made it into the US Hot 100 Billboard singles chart (not that that necessarily means anything).  They are an 'alternative rock' group, and that song was on their 2015 Mutemath album.  I wonder how much it cost "In Store Audio Network" for the rights to use it in their playlist? Probably not much.

If you have any other earworms stuck in your head, I'd suggest you read this thread...

Your answers might be listed there somewhere!

OP here............I just found that song with all the "I" words (words with the long I sound, if you listen to it casually while far away from a good speaker, it sounds like the songwriter could only think of "I" words for the Chorus.  It was evidently a HUGE hit in 2004 or 2008 (just kidding.......)... the youtube video was posted 11 years ago and there are still less than 10,000 views.

"JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW" by  BOOGALOO STU.

Kroger has played this for, like, years, virtually every day (at some time, at my store).

At my store, "The best of Intentions" by Mutemath has been played at least two times within my 8-hour shift, EVERY SINGLE DAY within the last 2 to three works or more.  I am not exaggerating.....just this morning it was played around 5:45 AM, and the next time about 10:20 AM.  At this rate, it is probably being played at least 5 to 6 times within every 24 hours. WHY?????  There are hundreds of other songs in their playlist that are only occasionally played (or never) in that time frame.  Maybe an  IN-STORE AUDIO NETWORK employee is  related to someone in that band???

Or the royalties paid for playing that song are so low that they play it more often on purpose?

I don't get it.   Any ideas?
