What is it with people and their sodas?

Yeah the sign says 77 cents ONLY if you buy FOUR of them. Otherwise it's 2 dollars each.

Then they complain that it doesn't say that. I go over there and show them the sign. "Well they need to make that bigger."

This past week several customers (actually several a day) complained about the price. Some of them accept that they had to buy four. Others are just freaking pissed. Demanding that I give it to them for 77 cents or they'll snap my head off. One of them was really angry.

I was forced to price override one customer for a soda. Another customer saw me do that, then they complained to me, "how come he gets it for that and I don't..." Gahhhhhhh. Now I had to price override for him too. CSM was busy on a register so I couldn't get them to cover over and argue with them.

These customers just gotta have their 77 cent bottle of liquid sugar.

I had a lady argue with me the other day about why her 4 chicken wings were more expensive than they were the last time she was there. I explained that they were sold by weight so eventhough she got 4 both times, these were clearly heavier. Couldnt get it through her head no matter how many times I explained it. I feel your pain, lol.

The only complaint I have is if the sign says, "77 cents each when you buy four" and you have eight, they have to rung up as a separate transaction.  Otherwise, it charges you full price for the last four.  It didn't use to be that way.  As long as you bought a multiple of the required amount, it would give you the sale price.  They need to change the signs so they say, "Limit 4 (or whatever) per transaction."

Someone once told me they'd "fold me five ways and send me to China" when I told them I couldn't (wouldnt) refund their USED baby formula. I smiled and told them "I' m off in 15 min. Tell you what... meet me outside in 15, and you are welcome to TRY to fold me five ways and mail me to China...HOWEVER, you must watch my fists.... they have a tendency to knock people back to the stone age." Needless to say, he didn't wait for me. And I hung around 30 min after to see what would come of it.

I honestly dont understand how hard it can be to read. Buy 4 you get the sale.

Had to deal with this the other week. Vendor hadn't coded their drinks into the sales system (or however it works) so I just took my box cutter and cut off the sales part of the price tag. Initiative solves a lot of problems.

Had a digital deal but you can only redeem it on Sunday. Had to setup the display Thursday & customers did not see & refuse to accept that fact that Sunday is when you can redeem. Customer Service must of gave in because when Sunday came we was sold out & all I could do was tell them to get a rain check.

Honestly on this one I kinda see the customer's point. "If you buy 4 or more" is often written in tiny print below the huge $0.77 text, it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention, and that's most likely why it's done that way.

And other items in the store *do* ring up on sale even if the specified quantity isn't bought, like if apples are marked 2 for $1, they'll still ring up $0.50 each. It's unreasonable for customers to know that sodas are the sole exception to that rule.

I'm going to try something different. Next time one of them refuses to accept that it's 77 cents, I'm going to do a price override and then tell them I'm doing it just this one time and that they should remember that they have to buy four of them next time and then say that the store is losing money by me doing this. But I doubt they give a **** about the store and will be back next time to demand the same price.

So glad I don't drink that stuff. If I'm thirsty, I grab me some water.
