A question about dependant insurance
Permalink

Our union local (1996) was able to get insurance for dependents for 2018. The signup for the dependent was completed on the union web site and a confirmation number was given.

I noticed on this past paycheck stub everything was zeroed out (deductions, taxes, et al) and there wasnt any deduction for healthcare.

Here is the question. How does a employee confirm that the healthcare policy is in force? Besides the confirmation number. Who do we call or get a hold of to get this actual confirmation? It seems weird that we were not contacted at all by now about the healthcare coverage.

Thanks All...

I also working under the Local 1996 in the Atlanta Area.  You didn't see a deduction for insurance for the first week because there was an issue between Kroger and the union in transferring information.  They sent out an email to all Kroger email accounts explaining this and mentioned that you will have a double deduction on the next paycheck to make up for it.   I would not worry unless you do not see a deduction in the next few weeks.
