I'm not really concerned with the card, I've seen the flyer and all the fees they're trying to set us up for. I thought "ok I'll get direct deposit and avoid the situation with the card" well then we get information that we can have our checks mailed to our home. How is that saving anyone time or money? My assumption is that the card idea is to save time at the store by having to pass out and cash checks, which is understandable. But it seems that if they're going to mail checks, they're not saving paper plus they'll have to pay postage!! The only way I can see a benefit is that they're taking the burden off the stores (for having to hand out and cash checks) and doing it centrally. Thoughts?

yeah but if that's the case, why would they offer to mail checks? My guess is that they pissed a bunch of people off with the card idea (though I hear it's also used in other stores besides K.)
