Fuel Center
Permalink

Good Evening everyone,

Recently I got moved to the fuel center and it has not been all that bad but tonight I had an incident and I felt that management could have helped me and avoided the situation.

After years of working around drunks at restaurants or people under the influence by other things I learned there are certain types that can't be reasoned with. This guy came up to the window and was going on about his kroger credit card and wanting to use last months points but he kept saying he wanted 35 gallons we at the kiosk cannot determine that because it is prepay and he would have to do it at the pump and also i am not about to do all the math involved (i might of if he was nice but he wasn't) The guy starts screaming at me and wanting to "tell me somethin" he storms off and i call management to warn them that he is coming their way.

About 10 minutes later this one assistant manager who is a really smarmy and weasly guy calls me asking about how to do things regarding the fuel points and he sent that guy right back up to the store saying that we can pay for it at the kiosk, well the guy stands in front of the window and yells "come out here and lets settle this" and I have been around long enough to know that even though he had his card in hand he was wanting a fight. I told him that I wasn't leaving the kiosk for my safety and he said "you should be afraid for your job" i told him "you can have it, you start work sunday" and he didn't like that.

He went down to the store and cussed a few people out, called the MOD in training at the service desk a C*nt and told the manager that he wanted to beat me up and still get his 80 cents off from last month (he actually said that).

I was by myself and the manager should have known better than to send a very angry man up to do business with someone that made him angry, the manager or someone should have come up there to do the transaction. The one manager we have that has some sense I think threw him out and warned of the police or something at least.

Our purpose is to make the customers happy but every now and then there is one that can't be reasoned with, I think from how he was acting he was either drunk or on meth, i am thinking meth because it was hard to understand him as he was talking really fast and he was very hyped up he had a "menacing" look. It may be "customer first" but not when my safety and or my life is on the line. I can get another job but I can't get another life.
