My store gets a lot of OSATs, but our scores are lousy. Customer .comments always say how great we are, friendly, clean etc. We seem to be lavished with praise but are graded as satisfied. That is just like a fail, hence, crummy scores. Our manager just got into big trouble for continuously getting low scores and having to go to meetings and him getting chewed out. Its not his fault. He told his crew that he will be suspended if he gets more poor scores. Why would such a caring company like Ralphs want to get rid of a manager if the comments are good. This just shows nobody READS the comments!!! Maybe our lousy VP Robby should get off his high horse and actually read the comments, not to mention our wonderful DM Mike

Been with Smiths a couple years now after working at Ralphs. Same problem here. Great comments and only get a satisfied. The big difference is my DM will actually read the comments and personally thank the clerk who got a good review. He knows its a flawed system but says the powers that be wont change it. Our scores are in the low to mid 70s , but the reviews are actually really good. Our manager doesn't get beat up over it. Apparently the VP also reads comments to and will actually visit stores and thank the people. It shows how upper mgmt. is so different up here. They try to boost morale. The upper mgmt. at Ralphs just beat up and threaten.
We have a RiteAid next to our store. They have a similar program to OSAT. They also get rewarded by the company if they get a good review. We have gotten together and swapped receipts and give each other great comments. But since both companies treat us like crapp, we always ding the store or mgmt. a little so the scores aren't good, but both stores reward with a little goody. My CSM is a real bittch so I be sure the RiteAid people score her bad and visa versa.
When the final score doesn't reflect the overall satisfaction correctly, then the scoring system is flawed.
We get consistently highly satisfied comments, but the overall score fluctuates from upper 60' to lover 80'. What gives? Is there something that corporate is not telling us?
Why do comments like "not highly satisfied, because I didn't get everything for free" even count? Or "I was tired". Discard those ffs. This way, the whole thing is a joke. Except nobody is laughing, because for some insane reason, this is a score card for the store and departments.
That's interesting. We get poor OSAT scored but we have a new front end department head that is a huge ass kisser. So even though the front gets poor marks and she doesn't do half of the stuff they made our other department head so that keep saying what a wonderful job she's doing. Also she didn't have to go through training they make everyone else go through.
I guess if you brown nose enough you can get away with doing practically nothing and still get kudos.
I also think they just randomly decide what our fresh and friendly scores are too. They ALWAYS tells us that we're going to get the bonus because our scores are so high we just need to work a little bit harder. And then the last 2 weeks of the quarter the scores suddenly drop so far we don't get the bonus. They're waving a carrot in front of the employees and then end up throwing it in the trash.
