Newbies in our department keep asking about holiday pay on Easter. One of the long timers said no but our assistant department head insisted that we do. Because of this, some people volunteered to work Easter and were excited to have the holiday pay.  Checked my paycheck this week, I'm not a newbie but I wasn't sure - turns out we don't get paid extra. Is there anything we can do about being misled?
