First SIR

Apparently I got a SIR write up a few days ago and I just now learned about it when our union rep told me he just saw the sheet on the store managers desk flipped upside down. It is for failure to follow OE life cycle. It is true that I've forgotten to do residual scans so I'm okay with the reason but it's unfair I didn't get talked to about this at all when I just saw the store manager yesterday.

I am a dept backup.

How many days ago was it. I think SIRS have to be delivered straight away not waiting a few days. That would make them void if I'm not mistaken.
I've had a SIR waiting for.me to sign from 2 weeks ago. Saw it on management desk. I put it into the shredder bin where we shred old documents and went about my business. I was lucky all copies (mine, management, and HR copy were still together.) I wasn't even informed either so I got rid of them.

It was dated 04/05 Thursday and I was off that day but I saw the store manager all day yesterday (Friday) and there was no mention of me having a SIR.

Im just aggravated they'd write me up without any notice for one minor thing that doesn't even really impact my department. I'd understand if I had a one on one talk and was verbally told directly to do something but none of that happened.

That seems to be the trend now. Scare and intimidate and punish the sh!t out of everybody and keep the business as a hostile work environment. Managers can all suck big juicy ones until they gag to DEATH.

Hopefully you refused to acknowledge and didn't sign it. Even if it was on your day off, they have to let you know the moment they see you on your next week day WITHIN A SPECIFIC TIME FRAME. at least that's  how they do it at my store now.

As management has told me "There's a right time for everything" It should be handled ASAP, but sometimes it just isn't the right time. Did you sign it. Don't talk to the Union Rep working in the store. They get paid to just be witnesses for the management. They get close to the management and sometimes work as management. They aren't really there for you, they are there for management. Talk to the Union President (Local Office).
