I don't drink, I don't smoke

Got into a conversation with a customer lady. A regular of mine. Told her that I don't smoke or drink. She looked at me in disbelief. Asked me if I used to do those things. Told her I never have. She looked at me like I'm some sort of reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

Hahaha, love it.

I've actually had people ask me 'so what's the deal, are you, like, 'recovering' or something?' I'd say 'no, alcohol tastes like sh!t and smoking kills you.'

Now, if I'm feeling extra salty I'll say 'no.....but are you so ate up with your addictions you feel threatened by someone without any?'

Either response kills the dialog pretty quick biggrin

I only drink a little bit of alcohol and i don't smoke either. (I don't see the big thrill about pot either. Tried it before and didn't really care about it lol) It seems like a lot of Kroger employees smoke because everyone's always outside on their breaks.

I used to only drink(a little bit) socially with family during New Year's. But of late, I've drank some wine at two of the Friday dinners at my store(definitely off the clock and it was served with each course. And honestly liked the ones that were served with dessert. The others I can't even believe someone made them and that we actually SELL them). And also would go out to dinner with a few of my friends/co-workers to like Tumbleweed for their Margarita Mondays for the discount on their Margaritas. And even then I would have 1 to 2. While others would have quite a few more(thankfully they weren't strong).

But yea, beyond that, I'm not a big drinker like that. I mean prior to working at Kroger, I only ever restricted trying a drink to New Year's festivities. As I don't really like the taste of alcohol outside of Tumbleweed's Wild berry Margarita and dessert wines(I've discovered since going to the Friday dinners).

As for smoking, I have never done any of that. Pot, cigarettes, vapor, none of it. Have too many relatives that did and still do on my mom's side of the family. And goting through all that second hand smoke growing up was horrible.

I drink on occasion and I've even smoked a bit (pot). But I'll only do so on my vacation time or on one of my days off. (Leave the other day to get myself together)

I'm a social drinker and very rarely drink outside of social events. I don't smoke either and I never have. I like being able to breathe.

HELL NO!! (Tried it in my late teens and it caused a bad trip. I was convinced someone was trying to kill me. To this day I'm not sure if the crack was laced with pcp or other weird ****. But never again will I touch the stuff )

I'll have wine sure, but liquor or smokes, nahhhhhh, just not into it. And peeps look at me like I'm stupid! Hello! It's called I want to live a good life at least, rather then do something that might wind up with me in the hospital or worse. (i've seen friends who drink wayyyyy too much and have actually damn near killed themselves with their stupidity in their drunkenness. Like falling down three flights of stairs, like that's going to end well for you.) One walked out of the bar and almost got slammed into the pavement by a fellow drunk who tried to drive out.
