Here's what YOUR policy should be: anything you post on facebook that could get you in trouble with the law, or with your job, don't post it.

That's it. Simple fix.

But what gets people jammed up is their ego; they get all 'oh, it's a free country, I'll do whatever the fk I want, yahyahyahyahyahyah.......' And yes, it is. And you can.

But none of us will e v e r be free from the results of our actions.

Couldn't agree more. Keep your job off facebook. NEVER accept friend requests from work unless you REALLY know them. NEVER accept management friend requests for ANY reason. Keep your profile set on private.

Remember: just like at work, leave your personal life at the door, leave your work problems at work and off the interwebz.

Discretion and prudence are personal considerations, but be aware that this abusive company lost a federal case on this very issue in 2014 when the Krogrr online communications policy was found to be overly broad, overly restrictive, and unduly burdensome on associates.

Anita Granger v. Kroger

So they fire you for something else. Think that can't happen? And who's gonna stop them, that joke of a paid-off union? Please.

Bottom line, get clear with yourself: what's more important, facebook....or your job?

What were the circumstances of Kroger asking you to remove FB posts? I don't list Kroger as my employment on my FB page and have had no problems.

If you're going to use your real name on Facebook or any other social media site, don't post anything that you wouldn't want your employer to see.  I don't use my name on anything that goes out over the internet.

I had someone ask me if I had a fb account at work. I said no (even though I do) not satisfied with my answer, they went to management and the management asked me if I had a fb account; again I said no. And added even if I had one, I'd NEVER tell them. They weren't too happy with that statement.

I don't even tell Kroger or the union my e-mail address.

My store seems to pick and choose. They got on one employee about complaining about the store on his Facebook page. But some girl was posting crap about another employee on her Facebook page, and "There was nothing they could do about it"

I have it listed as my employment on FB, but I also NEVER post bad or racist stuff on FB either, my account is also private, no one can see anything unless they are a friend of mine.
