I read the article in the Cincy paper that said Mullen said that Kroger was a 120 billion dollar company and we can take care of ourself. Sounds like he isn't too keen on a merger. Right before I was hired at Kroger I actually applied at Target and it was the strangest experience ever. I am an older lady and almost everyone at the store where I had my interview where I wanted to work was younger at me and the people they chose for further interviews looked like teens to early 20s-they sent the rest of us home. I don't think any areas of Target are unionized-what would happen to ours if a merger happened?
I don't think you should put much thought in to a Kroger-Targer merger happening anytime soon. Both companies are fine on their own. One of the biggest issues is Target is anti-Union and Kroger is Unionized.
