Idiot Customer Complaints

Ready for this crap? I wasnt. Gotta love those ****ing comments.

I was in the dairy section for TEN MINUTES searching for an item... WITH A TOTALLY CONFUSED LOOK ON MY FACE! Six different employees walked by and DID NOT NOTICE AND DID NOT STOP TO HELP ME! I had to find it for myself!!!

Why didnt you stop THEM to ask for help, idiot?

Why do employees stock shelves at the BUSIEST TIMES OF THE DAY?! Its so hard to maneuver around employees stocking shelves or those ClickList carts! There should be a time where only customers go out on the floor!

We stock shelves so you they arent empty. There are more customers than there are employees. ClickList carts are the same size as shopping carts, just taller. And again, that wouldnt work because then you would just complain that the shelves are empty.

I didnt know the store very well so it took an hour to find everything. I had to walk a lot and my hips hurt.

O...kay...

The ClickList employee had to sub SO MANY DIFFEFENT ITEMS! Why cant you guys just give me the items I asked for?!

Because ClickList hates you? Idk, I dont even work ClickList and Im already sick of this complaint. If you dont like subs, put down no subs. Not hard. They dont control what the warehouse gives us.

The bananas today were too green! I asked an employee, but all he said was that the bananas came in that way! How can you not have yellow bananas?

If they werent bruised and black, shut up. We dont control how the bananas come in. (Im not the associate this person called out).

I asked an employee where to find an item and she said she didnt know but she would go ask. How does she NOT know where everything is? She WORKS here!

She probably doesnt shop here. Also, theres like a bajillion different items here. And... She said shed find someone for you. ****, dude, calm down. Youre getting results, shut up.

Anyone else have any?

Oh, I hate those customers. They give you serious attitude for not knowing one extremely specific thing. Just f*ck off. I've memorized where 90% of things are, but as soon as they ask you where to get that one thing and you don't know, you're an insignificant imbecile to them. Get outta here.

Omg, this so much. I don't live in the town i work in, so therefore i don't really buy much in the store except deli lunches and whatnot.

I know where a few random things are, like the bread aisle, the baking aisle, etc, but if someone asks me where some obscure item is, i'm not going to have any idea. If people don't like my answer, i'm sorry.

What I hate are the idiots who ask "can you look in the back" when they can't find anything on the shelf. I solve that problem by saying "everything has been put out" and if they want to come back at 10PM when our stockers come in they are welcome to do so!

We have a guy who must shop at our store daily, he completes multiple surveys each week. He always marks it highly dissatisfied. His comment: I had to pay.

Our store is two stories...we have frequent comments on the survey that they dont like going to the upstairs or downstairs for whatever they want. Whatever they want to buy should be on the floor that theyre currently on.

My favorite all time complain  this the customer who was dissatisfied because we wouldnt copy down her shopping list over the phone, then send someone to go get it all and bring it out to her car so she could pay. Yes, we explained that we have ClickList. She doesnt want to do that...she just wants to tell us (at Money Services) what she needs and we can go get it for her. It was only like 30 items...why cant we just do that for her?

yeah, I have read many variations of ALL those complaints on the survey comments.

Most customers don't seem to realize that (in some departments such as produce, dairy and Drug/GM,) stocking has to continue throughout much of the daytime hours when customers are here. The fact that Kroger doesn't want to pay all the employees to fill everything in the middle of the night, combined with the fact that some of the shelves are emptied so fast that we HAVE to keep stocking during business hours (that especially applies to PRODUCE, and items such as bottled water in GROCERY), we are FORCED to stock during the day when gobs of customers may be clogging the aisles.

I do know where alot of the items are in the store (I shop here too), but if a customer says something like "you work here, don't you know where it is?",  please kindly remind them that your store has about (20,000 or 30,000 or 50,000 or whatever) different items in stock and there is NOT ONE  employee in the entire store who knows where EVERY SINGLE ITEM is!!!!

I mean, weve had a guy consistently tell management and write comments that he will not be served by a male in deli... which is unfortunate for him because of our four closers, two of them are male so of course theres going to be nights where there are only men there. He keeps coming in and complaining, acting like its something we shouldve fixed by now.

What was his reason?  I mean, does he think that that men are more sloppy, dirty or unhygienic in working the deli dept?  I've seen both clean and dirty, in both men and women. Just depends on the individual.

lol some of my favorites from recent memory.

I hate having to shop around those Click List Carts.  My shopping experienced is ruined by people that are too lazy to do their own shopping.  Call me old fashioned I guess.

As already stated in this post click list carts are the same size as shopping carts just taller.  Like omg get over yourself.

Your aisles are too narrow

I never know what to say that, guess the only way to fix that would to be to restructure the whole story eliminate an isle or two.  I'm sure they will get right on that.

Highly Satisfied is what should be expected upon every shopping trip, so I fail to see why I should give you this rating to reward you store.

Like what?  Calm down edge lord

Check Out takes too long because Cashiers talk too much.  They needed to tell me their name and write their bagger's name on my receipt.

I mean this one I completely agree with.  When I work front end I just pretend I don't know any of whatever rule of the month we're going by for the sake of fresh and friendliness.  Apparently now we have to introduce our name as we can, keep in constant conversation, and when its over say your name again and write down the name of every associate that helped on the receipt in case they fill out the survey.  The try hard cashiers that do this for every single customer take forever and is it really necessary when Que Vision is calling for five check lanes open and it's only possible to keep three going?

Still the customer should know we are living in a corporate world where we all gotta play by its stupid rules to hold retail society together while being fully aware their cashier doesn't wanna do it either.

Had one guy get anal because our booth clerk was on lunch. He DEMANDED she come up and work the booth and then go back to lunch IF and ONLY IF there is time. I patiently explained that she said she was on lunch and will not be up front until lunch was done. He damn near hit the roof. He looked around in a huff and just happened to see the booth girl en route to the back with her lunch in hand. He told her to.get to the booth. She glanced his way and then continued to the booth. He went ballistic and spouted a string of expletitives. F*ck was the word of favor for this guy. He sent s lengthy complaint to our manager saying that customers come FIRST. And that girl could have continued her lunch IF there was time afterwords.

Serving a customer at the meat counter, another customer comes up & cant wait till the first customer is done.
Complains that I did not make eye contact nor acknowledge her presence, when I clearly stated I will gladly help you when Im  done serving the guy in front of you. Her response its people like me is the reason why you have this job. The guy Im serving turns to look at her & say what is he suppose to do ignore me because you showed up. She leaves pissed off, but in her complaint she completely left that part out & made seem like that I was doing nothing when she showed up.

You can trace every societal problem we're facing to that we're wicked over populated on this planet. It's causing people to act out in more and more douchey ways, and become ever more anti social at best and, at worst, down right viscious and evil.

For all our technology and so-called sophistication, we're as basic as the animal kingdom. Only there, they have a system of checks and ballances: when over crowding happens, nature creates a drought or plaque-----or packs will turn on each other.

We need the same. Cuz like animals, people are too stupid to stop breeding.

Yesterday, I had a customer complain to me that we had no hand baskets by the entrance. There was a whole stack right there, by the entrance, in the same spot as they always are!

Generally:

Best complaints are in person

Worst complaints are on those surveys

Best complaint I ever got was an old guy in his 70's. It's 8am, store is open, he's looking for a certain candy. We just had a candy reset. He is looking around, looks straight at me, and says "I can't find a f**king thing because they've moved all this s**t!". Helped him find the candy, he thanked me, and he walked away with me wishing he had put that verbatim on a survey response because the resets are stupid sometimes.

Also complaints about free friday download's not being "good enough" are hilarious. Oh, and dissatisfied complaints with the comments being "GREAT SERVICE" and stuff like that.

We had the BEST comment today! The customer complained about our music...I dont want to hear Boy George when I am buying groceries! Really?? Hearing Boy George music makes you highly dissatisfied with your entire shopping experience?

No....really?? Maybe it smells like fish because...its near the seafood depot? (At least at my store it is) I mean fish...even fresh has an odor to it. As long as it's not rotten fish then their complaint means nothing.

As crazy as that might sound to some of you, I really wish ALOT MORE customers would complain about the awful, repetitive, stale music we have to listen to at our store every day, hour after hour.

For instance, I can only take 500 repetitions of "I CAN DANCE" by Leo Sayer (one of the most horrendous, grating, unpleasant, and stupid songs ever written....big deal, so he can dance...so can millions of other people!?!) before I'm just about ready to commit murder.

Manager should have responded with "per state and federal laws I have to give my employees their lunches and breaks." also if it's an unpaid lunch, then point out that the employee you're demanding to serve you is off the clock and not being paid by the company to serve you. Like I get Customer First, but there is a point where you can't treat adults like spoiled babies and if you don't say something about it you're just enabling their inappropriate behavior.

Double points are weekend only.  Where does it say that?  Right there.  Yeah.

However, you're only getting gift cards, so we can use the 4x fuel points instead!

Or, we would if you weren't the smelliest person I've had this month.  Holy ****.  Get out of my line.  I hope I never smell you again.

We had a real genius a couple weeks ago. Lady is checking out during a mid-morning rush, says her wait time was unacceptable wants to speak with a manager. Proceeds to explain that she's just come from a weight watchers class and apparently about half the class has come to shop together because they thought it be fun or something. so basically, she and about 20 others all mobbed the registers at the same time, and then couldn't figure out why we were busy.

some of my usual favorites

  • trying to get help from you when you're clearly helping another person
  • "I've been standing here waiting..."
  • complaints on being carded
  • "why don't you carry this product?"
  • store/parking lot too crowded
  • anytime some starts a complaint with "I don't really care/It doesn't really matter"

You have a terrible attitude.   That's why I hate shopping at Kroger.   In my town Walmart has better customer service than Kroger.   By seeing this forum I see why.   I'm going to Walmart.

I'm a former Kroger customer.   I've enjoyed reading these posts to see what a whiney bunch of tittie babies you all are.   It's clear why your customer service is so bad in your store.  You all have the worst attitudes.  I can't understand why you permit the general public to see you rant about the silliest things.   If you didn't have these customers who you obviously hate so much, you wouldn't have jobs.   Get an f---- life.

Just curious, but why are you coming here six years after the last post on this thread and why are you on a Kroger-related forum, when you dont even shop at Kroger? Just curious, thats all

Also, why is Walmart automatically that much better somehow as a company? Ive heard horror stories about them, toowhich is why I stay away for the most partThere is far more competition out there these days anyway

Kinda glad this got revived otherwise I wouldnt have seen it.

Yesterday: its 7:55a and no people-lanes are open. Self checkout is the only thing open. (Both express AND belted versions). Guy comes in and complains we dont have any lanes open. We literally only have the self checkout and the customer service desk open. We tell him Sir the cashier will be with you as soon as they clock in at 8.

Well why dont they just check me out now?!

Its for the same reason EVERYONE doesnt start work before they clock in: because they wont be getting paid!

And yes, I have checked; those 5 minutes actually count in regards to pay. Our clocks WILL NOT LET US clock-in before our designated time.

Customers be like: WHY DONT YOU OPEN UP MORE LANES?

Because opening up lanes requires people to run them. People we dont have.

WELL YOU GUYS SHOULD HIRE MORE!

Employment isnt a military draft. People have to WANT to work for us. And if we want people to work for us, corporate isnt doing a good job of offering financial incentive.

Excuse Me? I have to get it myself? That's NOT how it works!! Oh.. OK, I understand it now. No worries. I'll go ahead and do YOUR job. (Leaves store in a huff)

We DO NOT nor ever have shopped for Door Dash. That is THEIR job. We tell them where things are located and reach it for them if it's too high but that's it.

The things said above that customers say is mostly true. I am sorry to offend any workers now. I used to work at Kroger. And I felt this way when I worked, I hated store resets. And the aisle's are too narrow and seems like they get worse. I am not even sure if they meet the requirements for wheelchairs.
