Lady at work was checking out with a buy one get one free rain check on ribs which are on sale this week for $1.77 I believe. The cashier started accusing the employee of being a thief and stealing ribs because she had a rain check for ribs which weren't on sale last week.  Lady told her to shut up or she'd kick her ass.  Now the cashier says that she is scared to come to work and her feet tingle when she sees her. So they're firing the lady that was technically a customer at the time while nothing happens to the cashier.

It was a Saturday only sale. No rain checks. So she either wrote it herself or had a friend up front do it. That's fraud and probably the real reason for her firing.

no our meat department didn't order anywhere close to enough and many people got rain checks. I assure you her firing has nothing to do with the rain check.

It sounds to me like she got fired for workplace violence. She should have told the employee to call a manager.

This was a clear case of a job site Darwin Award. Who, in this age of constant work place violence and murder, doesn't know better than not to publicly threaten a fellow employee?

Good riddance biggrin

I severely underestimated the power of the digital coupon on the blueberry muffin Saturday flash sale once and so we handed out a ton of rain checks for them. That being said, you definitely don't threaten people like that and expect to keep your job.

So we normally can't get rain checks on the Saturday onlys? I was thinking of asking for one at this other Kroger I don't wrk at yesterday since they had no more of the simple truth waters. But eh I just kicked myself for forgetting and my store still has them :/

Not suppose to give rain checks on the Saturday only deals because they are technically COUPONS. Not a sale.

I think everyone here is forgetting something. Even if only a ONE Day sale, you are still out of the product. If the customer complains to any District/Div/Corp person, "MAKE IT RIGHT" would dictate a "Rain Check". A ONE Day should not be confused with a "Special product promotion" (Items we do not carry, but have have for a limited time) (IE. Black Friday Electronic Items, TV's). If a customer has a rain check, they have the right to get the items for the stated price, not current and previous sales. I know some customer will "save" rain checks to wait for a MEGA EVENT SALE, which would take the MEGA EVENT savings off after processing the rain check.

In the big scheme of things, give the customer the rain check and move along. Most of the items being offered on the ONE Day Sales are no perishable, order heavy and just be in-stock. If anyone here knows File Maintenance, they know all Yellow Tag prices are actually coupons that trigger with scanning of the discount card. Digital Coupons are basically the same thing, they are just processed before the total is given.

Yet, some Krogrr managers have built and maintained years-long careers with this company using hostility, verbal violence, and outright or borderline belligerence.  It might be nice if "standards" applied to everyone, including management.

Correct no rain checks on flash sale items.  And it's while supplies last.  We're technically not supposed to write a reign check but if the customer is being an ass make it right to get them out the door without a two year old tentrum tantrum.  This is a two year old tactic to get their way.

I had to file a customer harassment case and threatened with a lawsuit because the commemorators may always be right but they don't need to be an ass hole to you and place you in a hostile work environment.

The no rain checks on flash sales can be pretty annoying. "I'm sorry our grocery manager only ordered enough of this product to last the first 30 minutes of the store being open, sorry no rainchecks!".

Random update. Our manager looked into it and the union said they weren't gonna do anything and neither was kroger going to punish her.  So the cashier decided to get a restraining order because she is afraid to come to work and can't be happy anymore  and she's fearful of everyone at work now.  Lady that was fired transferred instead and they gave her a going away party since she's been here like 10 years.  And now the cashier is complaining that it is wrong she got a going away party and trying to start more issues and won't talk to anyone who was friends with the lady who transferred.

The cashier is right to feel that way, it sounds like people at your store are brain damaged. If the lady worked there for 10 years then she should know better than to threaten someone. She's an idiot, and so are the co workers that support her. She was wrong so get that through your thick skull
