It could mean a few different things depends on the context.
Labor Loss:
Associates Quits
Loss of hours in ELMS forecast
Needing to perform a task that does not have any labor associated with it (moving items from one display to another(In ELMS you only received hours for stocking the item once))
Okay, about two weeks ago I was scheduled for only one day which hurt me financially. I have insurance through kroger and a garnishment that comes out of my pay every week, so I got a 0 dollar paycheck. This week, I was able to pick up a couple of extra days within my department since we're short staffed. My head asked if I could work one of those days and I asked if I could work another one. I didn't realize that I'd be working seven days in a row though until I walked in and looked at my schedule with the frozen lead. He is the one who pointed this out to me. I'm an overnight stocker, female, that weighs 93lbs, so anything past five days in a row is pretty rough on me, but I can still manage to work six days in a row, but definitely not seven especially since I work 10-12 hours a day depending on the day. I know that money is stability, but my health is also pretty important too. I was talking to a coworker about this, and he had said that they're not suppose to schedule people like this (seven days in a row), and I asked him why. He said it's because of labor loss. So, which category does this fit into? Oh, and is it labor loss or labor lost?
