Ever had an employee try to file an ethics complaint for discrimination? Note, there is no actual discrimination involved WHATSOEVER. Everyone on up the food chain in the store from me up to my deli manager, up to my store manager, is on the same page on this.
But what's going to happen? As dept head am i going to be questioned?
Your District HR person will most likely come in and question key-holders in the complaint. Just tell the truth and have justification, sometimes people do not like to hear the hard truth, in which case they make their own "truth up".
Yes, you will very likely be investigated, maybe more than once. Stay cool. Right now is the time to get your facts 100% straight, and keep your answers very brief and as much yes / no as you can.
Race and sex discrimination claims are the deadliest weapons now, and are powerful enough to topple kings and presidents. They're the only aspects of law I've ever seen where you don't need any proof whatsoever, and the accused is 100% guilty til proven innocent.
Many times the anger and indignation of a innocent accused person, over such an outrageous distortion (or outright lie), alone will be their undoing. So again: stay cool.

I don't know what I would do if I was questioned about discrimination. I'd probably go right to preaching. So, I hope that never happens to me.
Ask them to prove it in writing. I've been bullied so much over the years I keep pocket note books in my apron and write down what they did not me, sign, date and time it. If i have a witness I ask at least two people to initial it. Ask them to prove it. If you're doing company protocol you're fine.
I gather from your post you are a lead or a floor manager. You will be questioned as a possible witness but since the complaint is not about you directly, I think you are in the clear
