I know we can start wearing jeans but I don't remember the day. When was that starting?

I believe it is in the dress code that we can wear jeans always.  Your store might have a uniform code but if it's company code then you should be able to always wear jeans.  Double check with your union rep or store manager to be sure.  Some people still wear the old slacks because they don't have the funds to upgrade to the new uniform code.  Nor want to trash out their jeans for work.  If they clean with the bleach spray chemical it leaves spots on cloths so they just continue to use one pair of pants for work.  My work cloths are one pair of jeans and two t-shirts and one polo shirt.  I won't invest more than that into work.  I don't think they realized that jeans are more expensive than slacks.

At our store, we've been allowed to wear jeans since day 1. We're allowed to wear jeans and the new polo shirts.

It depends on the store, my store isn't on the new dress code yet and I haven't heard a date yet.

Interesting. At our store, we were allowed to wear jeans on memorial day ONLY. After that it was back to black pants.

Of course, the dress code doesn't apply to front end managers and office associates. They can wear whatever they want. One of our ACSMs wore this american flag shirt on memorial day.

No, I think the dress code is just PERMISSION (ENCOURAGEMENT) to wear jeans (implying that Kroger wants you to be "happy and casual and FREE!!" and "free to be YOU" so you don't HAVE to be tied down to Khakis.

You can still wear khakis as well, but they can't be the "cargo" type with lots of pockets.

I want to post this in case this will be a help to anyone:  I know ordinary blue jeans can be EXPENSIVE at many stores. However, if you have a RURAL KING or MENARDS in your area, go there and check out their blue jeans!  In both stores I saw GOBS of jeans, including "in between/off sizes" (like 35 waist in mens' size) and they were quite inexpensive. One of the brands was 8.99 a pair. Another one was 11.99 a pair (if I remember right) and I can say I've had pretty good luck with them lasting quite a while.  Of course, they are imported from overseas, as are most clothes nowadays.

I saw some jeans in a marketplace Kroger store lately, they were priced at 40.00 a pair. (They were made in Mexico). Guess where I'm gonna shop for jeans? Hey, I'm on a budget......... Where do you think I work??
