It would be great if they got rid of the IN-Store Audio Network, and got a completely different music service, who would play a whole different batch of songs, especially oldies that ISAN has never played. Even if a new service played their songs as often as ISAN, maybe with luck at least it could be a different selection of stale songs! ANYthing to help break the monotony.........at least for a time............
Anyhow, there are several songs they have been playing every 4 to 6 hours lately (that have 'come on line' just in the last few months) and I have trouble even finding them on Youtube simply because the lyrics are so hard to understand: I can't even pick out 5 consecutive words in the lyrics to do a keyword search with!
Not sure what inspired us to get a survey over what we would like to hear at our store at one point. But I know back in May or early April we were asked to fill out a mini survey over what types of music we would like to hear throughout the day. Which was rather random but pretty cool. As we have gotten a bit of a "new-ish" mix. But still for some they will still re-play of those over and over again. I just wonder why they can't put on Panora or Spotify or something where they just leave off songs that have the cuss words in them. But still adds a good general mix to the sound altogether.
In store Audio network plays the same songs that the old service played and just about the same time everyday. Or at least say like on Mondays at 8:15 am the same song played the last Monday at 8:15 am.
Yes that would be so cool. You know Wal-Mart does their own? I was in my local Wal-mart and the DJ said he was live from Bentonville AR. And he was calling out employee's names around the country.

But I really don't want to hear a Kroger DJ spending hours a day talking about "uplifting stories" on the freaking radio
sometimes they'll play the same song back to back. wtf?
Also sometimes I like to get on the intercom and say "My name is ___ from store ___ in _____ and I requested ____" as if we actually have some control over it.

I hope they do something. We've already played out most of our songs, several have been permanently ruined for me. I use to like them, now when I hear the title, I cringe. Holiday songs will probably be many renditions of Frosty The Snowman for this year.
Our store is currently on about a 4 hour loop. It's mostly dreadful pop music, but at least there's no country.
Could be worse. There's been times when the loop was only an hour long. Or when they played country.
Well, Anonymous, when you say "COUNTRY" exactly what kind of country do you mean? A lot of the modern so-called "country" that is played on Kroger music feed is not real country, it is a modern bastardized mixture of rock, pop and country that sounds like crap. Too much background chaotic electric guitar, not enough clear focus on a singer with a good voice. I like the good old-fashioned late 1960s and early-mid 1970s CLASSIC country music that really meant something........great melodies, clean acoustics, classy arrangements, singers with real talent, songs about ordinary people with real problems, great love songs, songs from the heart. I'm sure good ole In-Store Audio Network would never play something with that much class on their feed for Kroger.

Oh Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!! 60's and 70's country is the best. But I also like older from 40's and 50's.

Oh and they have played some old songs not sure what Gene it's considered but I've heard and
I cant recall hearing Pink Floyd. Which songs? I am guessing those the radio has overplayed to death the past 35+ years.
"Another brick in the Wall"............ I remember hearing that on the Kroger music every so often, about a year or so ago. But not lately. It is odd how they will play a few Mega Hit songs just VERY occasionally, and then not again for ages. Must have something to do with the royalties/cost of airing it???
To the other previous poster: The Chordettes "Mr. Sandman (1954) is classed as "Traditional Pop" or "Standard Pop" . (I would also call it " 1950s bubblegum Pop" or "Pre-rock-era Pop"!)
Dean Martin's "Papa Loves Mambo" is also "Traditional Pop". Might be classified as "Classic Pop", "Standard Pop", "1950s version of Adult Contemporary" or "1950s Easy Listening" if such phrases could be used. It also sounds alot like typical "BIG BAND" music, only with a prominent male voice along with the "Orchestra" or "Big band" sound.

Yeah , speaking of classic country music, I would guess only older fans of classy country might recognize this one........an underrated singer who had a few hits in the mid-1970s.
La Costa (older sister of Tanya Tucker), she has a great voice as well, but didn't get much recognition, and evidently bowed out of the "fast lane" to devote herself to being more of a wife, mother, and a "regular down-to-earth person".
Just so you know, guys...The music CAN be changed...YES, IT CAN! It was brought up to our manager, that a few of us were getting rather tired of the selection and demanding a change...I think he was at his wit's end about it, too, as he agreed with how repetitive it was...He did a little investigating and found out that our bakery manager was the one who had access to change the channel...It is fixed now! There is more of a variety...Old, new, unheard, etc., but at least it's not the same old, same old they were playing! EVERYONE is glad that our store changed the channel...In fact, if I hear any of the old repetitive playlists in any store or restaurant I walk into (as ISAN pipes their crap into a lot of other places), I will walk right out the door! If THAT'S the first impression you want to give as a business (Sound, act and be like everyone else...), then you don't deserve mine!
