Did the union let you know that contract talking was going on? Here in the Cincinnati/Dayton area back in march of this year the union did not let us know anything. They sprung this on us real quick. We did not have any time to consider the contract. The union was pushing that contract something furious. I voted no because the long time employees did not get anything. New people departments heads and drug gm got more than anybody. Something tells me that Kroger is doing the same thing to Louisville division like here. Our contract passed only because drug gm was put in grocery contract to make more money. Drug gm contracts always before sucked.

I didn't know either till I called a month and a half ago. At least Cincinnati got the $10 and $11 after a month. It was just a very slight revised version of the old one basically changed wording and contract for the better of the company not the union. Ours they only bumped the minimum and first 4 pay level 25 cents above minimum wage. It is pathetic. They wonder sometimes why there is a high turnover rate. If everyone told me correctly everyone I know at our store is voting NO

The new contract didn't even help us up in my area. Even at $11 an hour we can't keep people. My union rep even said its terrible in all the northern stores in district 1.

I'm sure it didn't because some need to make much more to support a family and move to factory, but nowadays PT hrs at 8.50 they proposed won't feed, pay bills and get what you need without going into debt or broke between checks.

The current contract doesn't expire until April 14, 2019.  I assume you're talking Local 227.  That's the Louisville Division.

Our contract says Louisville Division. I'm guessing you must be located right around Louisville or in KY. We are different Union and office, but are Louisville Division according to contract book

They took away our night premium, increased cost of insurance, and didn't really give us anything short of a small raise.

Basically the only thing beneficial out contract has is the $0.25 increase on minimum pay and small increases over time worked. They left our night premium. They added a cheaper insurance package and left others same. They raised the hours needed for becoming a regular employee to receive benefits too. Basically everything else stayed the same just re-worded everything. It is pathetic.
