I need some advice, so I walk in at the start of my shift to get an RF gun and there are two new hires sitting doing the new hire stuff. One of my co managers introduces me and says they are a new grocery night person and a new NUTRITION night person. This is AFTER I expressed interest to move to nights several times.
I feel like this is kind of a stab in the back, do I have a right to be miffed about this?
Yes, file a grievance. By union law if two candidates apply for a position the candidate with union seniority should be considered. If an individual regardless of union seniority has a disability the disability individual regardless of the degree will win. My last location did this to me all the time and it wasn't right legally.
Just I dont get why they would do that, though? To me it would make more sense to put the more experienced person (me) on nights and put the new hire (from what I get, they are NEW new, not a transfer from another store) on days where they can learn and MGMT can be there, but that makes too much sense I guess.
I dont see how, I am an introvert and I hate people LOL, I also have anxiety issues and really get affected when the store is really busy and there are people everywhere.
Also they were cutting my hours back to where I had to file grievances just to get 16 hours (I am part time) that I had to get another second job (My last one ended), which made me unavailable on mon and fri now and the store manager had the nerve to get pissed about it when I went in to talk to him about it. this is AFTER I opened my availability during the week a while back because they said that is why I wasnt getting the hours I wanted (I wasnt asking for much, at least 24 hours would have been plenty).
There is just no winning with this company, I swear if it werent for the health insurance (which in my area is pretty good) I would have been gone a long time ago.

I dont have a social life, I am a married introvert.
Also I highly doubt it's my work performance, I am one of the best employees they have (and that is not just coming from me, my co workers have told MGMT that as well). I have worked hard all my life, my first job as a teenager was at a livestock feed store, loading hay bales and 50 lb bags of feed into people's cars and trucks, then I was a landscaper for 6 years, then I went to work as a race horse groom, and then later an assistant trainer, so no, I do not think it's because of my work ethic, LOL.
But they still might not like me and the reason might be because I know my rights, and I dont let them push me around like the other employees do.
