1.) How much are union dues?
2.) Why do I have to wait 90 days to get my union contract?
3.) Union dues haven't been taken out of my paychecks. I've had 2 paychecks so far. Is that normal?
4.) Do union dues get taken out 90 days after employment? If not, why would I pay union dues for a contract I haven't even seen or hasn't been sent to me?

1.) How much are union dues? Varies contract to contract. I pay $10.44/week union dues. $22 for health copay and something else health. I think you will pay an initiation fee at beginning for a few months. Some states like California make union membership mandatory.
2.) Why do I have to wait 90 days to get my union contract? You are on probation for 90 days. You can be let go anytime.

2.) Why do I have to wait 90 days to get my union contract? You are on probation for 90 days. You can be let go anytime. .... So that the company can legally suck 3 months of productivity out of you before sh!t canning you on your 89th day

Don't be shocked by the initiation fee. .... Which is ridiculous. That should be pro-rated into your first quarter of successful emplyment.

And about the initiation fee: does that also not get taken out until the 90 day probation period has passed?
If they let me go before the 90 day probation period, I'll be glad, because I didn't have to pay Union dues (and hopefully not the initiation fee) and I'll be able to write (and/or tell) them off. It'll also give me time to find a better job.

The initiation fee doesn't get taken out until the union fees start getting taken out. It was so long ago, I can't remember how much the fees were. I almost want to say, they were taken out over 3 months time.
