It can be anything, favoritism, worthless employees, lousy manager(s)/department heads, etc. Is it the same everywhere or is there at least 1 store that actually respects their employees?

How about EVERY SINGLE MISERABLE THING about the whole experience. SO glad I finally got away from it.

Sure I have. I just come here to gloat at y'allz misery and occasionally mock your posts. ----- Knowing it pisses you off but it ain't nothing you can do about it is like the lump of butter on top of the potato

Oh, honey the only one your pissing off is yourself. When you eliminate something from your life, you completely eliminate it. You don't remind yourself of the misery. Nice to know you still care.
it's really not that bad besides from the pay. co workers are generally ok, customers are ok, my boss loves me, and i command a reasonable amount of respect for someone with lower seniority. i don't have any plans to move upward in the company at the moment, but i'm comfy in my little grind as it is.
I am looking for other employment, if I end up leaving, can I still post here? LOL not to gloat but just to empathize with others about the hell that is working for this place.
For our store it's:
crappy mgmt
not enough help
pay sucks
I am PT, so I know they only have to give me 16 hours a week, but since I have been here, I have seen my hours being shorted more and more. I have gone from working 32hr / week to being lucky to get 16hr / week, that is the main reason for me considering leaving.
I really like my customers and my co workers, and I will miss them :(
It sucks balls!!!! Not enough help, not enough help, not enough help. Stock, run backstock, condition, do your 4 scans everyday. "You didn't scan enough lows/holes, why didn't you do your code dates?" 8 hours allowed to do 11 hours of work typically daily. Won't hire help. Won't give you any help. Bitch about overtime if you ever get it. Working through breaks and sometimes lunches while clocked out. Being called up front to bag or get baskets off the parking lot or check. Then expected to get your work done even though you have been pulled out of the department 2 hours per day to work in another department. Working with broken down equipment. If something breaks inside a store it takes a month before a maintenance guy comes to work on it and that is after the 6 months the store manager puts off initially placing the service call. Work backs up and nobody seems to care unless it is dry grocery or dairy department. No time to rotate anything. No time to mark anything down that is close dated. Nowhere to display markdowns because high ups decided they didn't want a markdown door. No time to scan out and dispose of your damage. No time to organize your work area or backroom even though high ups want the backroom to look even better than any point on the sales floor. Managers want to know why you are backed up and then act clueless when you tell them even though they really know anyway. Employees at each others throats daily because of the pressure. Order evolution. Very rarely anything encouraging said to you by a manager. This is life at Kroger.

At our store, my DH at the time looked at the scheduling and saw that they had actual hours for a code dating person, so he hired someone that does our code dates mon-thurs. we are only responsible for them when she isnt there. Maybe your store has the same?
