Most loyalty cards are made by the same company. They'll scan, but there's no ecoupons and the fuel points won't go to the Kroger account. If the customer isn't watching closely, you can scan the wrong one.
Senior Day sucks. Cashiering on Senor Day really sucks. I don't sign up anyone up unless they ask. I'd say at least half of the elderly don't get their discount.
Eggs are real fragile, but broken eggs are obvious. Bananas and other produce don't bruise up right away. If you have strong hands, you can even dent some cans by squeezing them.
Customers are generally oblivious. They try to buy spoiled produce and damaged items all day long. Sometimes I let them.
Some courtesy clerks like to sneak loose plastic bags into customer's reusable bags, or "forget" to use the customer's bags. Those are some of my favorites.
Customers on their cellphones tend to forget to use their loyalty cards, and never hear you when you remind them. I had one customer who purchased cherries, and she could have saved $10 if only her call weren't so important.
Mock them! If they roll their eyes, roll yours. If they stand with their hands on their hips put your hands on yours. I they have their arms crossed, cross yours, etc.
Sounds like some really sad bitter pathetic associates in here
I am not sure if you work in customer service / retail, but I think that the entire human race should have to work a customer service and / or retail job once in their lives, it will give you a whole new respect for these poor people and what they have to deal with.
I havent been working with Krogers that long, but even when I started 3 yrs ago, it was a heck of a lot better than it is now, it's not a fun deal to work for a company who doesnt care about it's associates. The proof is in the pudding with "a highly satisfied customer made this paycheck possible" Uhhh ... no ... the people who WORK for you made this paycheck possible, without them you would have no company and no customers.
In short, this is a place for disgruntled associates to vent and air their grievances, give them a break!
Sounds like some really sad bitter pathetic associates in here
That's exactly right. Kroger is a sad and pathetic place to work, and the customers treat as though you were some loathsome subhuman. How can you not become embittered working here?
