Usually you get mileage from your home/homestore. But, its a lot of nights and almost all weekends. Most likely no set schedule. You are essentially the low man on the scrotum pole. If you get an A type personality DH, it can be difficult. Be prepared to told that you don't know anything and that you suck. On the plus side, if you are really good at what you do, you can make yourself indispensable.

We had one guy who was a floater. He was rudely told by our old store manager that his grandmother could cut better than him and that he was an uneducated moron. The meat guy, who KNEW his cuts, then replied. "If your grandmother knows so much, get HER to cut meat then." He then left due to it being the end of his shift. Our old store manager (now fired), tried SEVERAL times to get him terminated to no avail. Our floating meat cutter came from 'The Hall.' Meaning he couldnt actually be fired by that manager. Ive seen him a few times helping out at our store still. Hes a nice guy who knows what hes doing and customers love him. Our current manager wants him as a permanant meat cutter in our store...we'll see what happens
