Atlanta division:

Pretty sure I'm going to be written up for absenteeism soon. Got my 1st write up the end of last year for the same thing. They said next would be a 3day suspension. I can't find anything that says the procedures for this. Like when the last one expires. So could I be suspended now even though it was over 9 months since the 1st write up? Or would I be looking at another initial write up without suspension since it has been so long?

Depends on your Division.  I found the steps in the employee handbook.

On mine, there are 3 or 4  steps.  I have never been written up.  Whenever you get a write up, get a copy.  Never sign a write up if you are union.  Manager can write Refuse to Sign and that is good enough.  Signing makes it more difficult for the union fight the termination if you sign it.  It will say when it expires.  Normally 90 days.

I think tardiness counts as one set of instances and absences count as a separate set of instances.  Two shifts in a row count as one instance.

Warning (CAR)  3 instances of absence or tardiness in 90 day period .

2nd warning(SIR) 4th absence or tardiness in same 90 day period.  Put on 90 day probation.

3 day suspension 2 additional absence or tardiness in 90 day period  with new 90 day probation.

Termination.  2 additional absence or tardiness in 90 day period.

Improper call off will immediately advance person to next step.  Not notifying management of call in before shift(1 or 2 hours before shift depending on your contract).  Not calling in.  Requesting a day off, being denied and then calling in anyway.  Showing up to work an hour late.

I have one coworker on her fourth 3 day suspension in less than two years because the attendance was reset 3 times.  Only took her a 2 months to get her current 3 day suspension.  This time, she even called in 2 shifts in a row.

Naw!  That is too easy.

I don't care if people show up or not.  The sooner they get kicked to the curb, the sooner I can hire someone else. HR hires 10, 1 turns out to be a decent worker.  The others slack off and play the attendance game until they are gone.  Not my fault if they are in poverty and destitute.

Not my fault if they are in poverty and destitute.

Or, stay with Kroger, be destitute, impoverished, and have the privilege of being treated terribly.

You must know from experience about poverty and destitute. Youre probably on food stamps with 9 kids

Maybe, Maybe not.  Not really important.  I am paid to show and do my job.

When you get wrote up, for the first time, you are on suspension for 60 days. If you do not repeat what you got wrote up for in that 60 days the process starts over. If you do repeat it with in that 60 days, your next write up will be a one week suspension and an additional 90 day suspension. If wrote up 3 times while on suspension, they can fire you.

I also work in the Atlanta Division.  I just checked our union contract and it states that 9 months after getting written up for a CA it becomes null and void, provided you didn't get written up for the same infraction in that time frame.   After 9 months they have to start the process over again, as if you never got written up the 1st time.  I hope this helps.
