Hi. I'm a district manager who just walked the absolute worst store I've seen in my career, and several of the employees and customers there were talking about posting their antics on some kind of Kroger forum. I guess this is the one.
Anyway, I don't think I've ever seen a store this terrible, and I honestly don't even know where to begin to fix it.
The entire upper management team shot themselves just before the walk. There were at least 3 customers defecating on the sales floor for the explicit purpose of pissing off the employees for being lazy, and when I called the police to have them escorted out, they started doing the same thing. There are no CCs bagging up front or bringing in carts, instead, they're all working in other departments, making orders, unloading trucks, cutting meat, making bales, etc. Every department seems to be a DH, maybe one or two actual qualified employees, and then a bunch of CCs who were told they got 'promoted'.
This store gets 10 times as many surveys as others, and they are all highly dissatisfied, saying that the 'worthless' associates don't know what hard work is, and should be fired. The employees are all walking around farting to disgust the customers (they also targeted me after about an hour, when they figured out I was walking the place). The breakroom is a constant war-zone, customers keep going up there to steal everyone's food, and of course, multiple CCs will go up there and beat the living **** out of them until they leave. There is a lot of blood stained on the rugs, and even a few teeth laying around here and there. I don't know how the **** this place hasn't been sued yet!
None of the CCs had keys to the trash compactor (a couple of them asked me if they could get some), so they just started throwing all their trash in the restrooms. According to them, nobody was using it before then anyway, since they weren't getting cleaned.
My favorite thing though, was that even with all the CCs doing work around the store, I noticed that there still weren't as many as the payroll budget for this store would have suggested. They're still all making CC wages, but there should have been twice as many based on the money being bled from the place. Then I saw it.
The conference room had at least 10 people sitting around playing 'fort night' on their phones. They didn't even bother wearing their uniforms, they all just clock in and go straight to gaming!
I had to shut the store down, but now bringing it back from the dead is my responsibility. The employees and customers kept mentioning this place, so I figured you guys might have some answers. If anyone can help me out here, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

we laugh at the troll but it's not far from at least one store i've worked. there's a few stores I know in my division that should have the slate wiped clean and start fresh with different manager, different heads/leads, different associates. I feel like the more stores I've been in the more I wonder how the company is making it but then I just see the reduced hours and higher metrics
