Two deaf people come to use my Uscan. They both use two different Uscans to check out at the same time. They know each other, they walked in together. One of them is trying to buy some hot chicken from the deli with their EBT card. When the Uscan keeps rejecting their card at the pinpad, I try to tell them that they can't buy this. Of course, they can't understand a word I'm saying and keep on trying to use the card. And I didn't know that they were deaf until I tried to explain it to them.
Their friend obviously can understand me. Either they're partially deaf or can read my lips. But the other one, the one who was trying to use the EBT card, definitely couldn't. So I try to tell their friend to tell them that they can't buy that chicken with their EBT card.
Guess, what, they snap at me. Telling me to **** off and tell them that myself. Well, their friend can't understand a word I'm saying, so... Well, after a few failed attempts, their friend decided to just use their gift card to buy the chicken for them.
