District HR or Union

Would it be bad if I filed a grevience and contact my District HR manager for a promotion I was denied.  I was denied the ACSM promotion with 10 years of seniorty and I have knowledge of all functions of the job and other jobs within the store. The person they gave it to has less than two year seniorty and hardly no experience.  I feel like going to the District HR manager is going to create some tension between me and management at the store for going over their heads and not following proper grevience process any help would be great.

You should if you have that many years in experience. You only live once so there's no time to waste with second  guessing or feeling bad about filing. Go get what you feel you earned. Too bad for management if it creates tension. Dont let them screw you out of making more money cause they're to lazy to find some one to put in your place now cause you want to move up.
