Sick pay on day one or day three?

Recently the sick pay policy changed.  I believe we get sick pay on day one now right?  It use to be on day three with a doctors note or immediate hospitalization.  I'm tired of having a full bank of sick pay I can't use nor will ever use.

I'll take this one, I was just going over this very issue with corporate.

You might want to copy this, it gets a little tricky. Basically, it starts with what time of a given 24 hr. day you call off. This is the hinge point that determines all that follows. So, if you call off for your morning shift of, say, 12/22 at 12:01 am, that will get you coverage for your next shift on 12/22. However, if the shift in question is an afternoon shift you'd have to call in by no later than 7:01 am of 12/23 to compensate for your next eveing shift on 12/24. It's an algorhythmic thing.

The best part of this is, if you call in three sequential days or eveings or nights, you actually acrew bonus points that go towards, I forget, it starts with a set of steak knives and goes as high as a free Tahiti vacation (only for yourself, of course. Guests are on your dollar).

Hope all this helped!
