do you have a manager that is hated by pretty much everybody. we do i hope they get fired soon

I notice the more a person leans to the left, the less value they have as an employee (includes management) because they don't "put out" at work. Discuss

So I've decided to quit my god-awful job as a courtesy clerk. The managers at my place are terrible, and can not do anything right. Not to mention the fact that the way the managers expect us to work is more stress than I need in my life- I'm currently a Junior in HS thats involved in AP classes, Band, and...

Back in the 1970's, Kroger's was a mainstay here in Western PA. Sadly, they left the area due to incoming competition. I remember my mom buying canned plums all of the time. I've searched for years at every grocery store in the area and nobody carries them. The only thing I can figure is that she bought th...

Well it happened. Got injured at work I am Grocery manager with my hip, knee, and shoulder being messed up. I made a injury report and went on to speak with Sedgwick about seeing one of their "in network Drs" which I did. The Doctor told me that he believes that all my injures is no doubt Kroger's fault and t...

Woke up to a 24 hr flu bug. Called out per the zero work while sick rules. Was requested to come in. Didn't even last five minutes before puking on the check stand. Guess they didn't believe me even though I could barely walk normally because of the flu bug. I know we're short staffed but take call outs more...

so I was curious

, If for any reason an employer took long break (30 minutes or over) will he/she still get paid for their break? or the computer system will shift it to no pay? what everyone input about this?

My store has about 5-8 call outs a day. Is that normal? I know the job sucks but you are given a job and half the people don't want to work it. Management won't hold people accountable for their actions. I have good attendance and rarely call out if at all and management was thrilled to have a reliable work...

Thank you rodney for being an a$$ and reducing store hours more than normal. Most of us are pulling 50+ hr work weeks because of this sh-it and those with hour restrictions can't even get 20 hrs a week. When someone calls out there is no fu-cken back up help. People are quitting like flies and we're having...

Only store I've worked at that can't seem to pass a mystery shop. I know why this flaky store keeps failing. After working at several high grossing key retailing stores I'm shocked at the b.s. that goes on in my current store. Here's why my store can't successfully pass a mystery shop: The manger doesn'...

I don't know if I need counseling or not, but I don't want to work at Kroger anymore. On my days off I'm exhausted. I have to catch up on my laundry, and other responsibilities, etc. and I can't think straight to determine a new path/career. Just about the time I think I got things fixed up, it's time to g...

Let's face it, Kroger has some morons making decisions, and most of their decisions are moronic. They want personal shoppers to shop fast - so, 30+ to sub-30 seconds per item, but they do everything they can to make this difficult, if not impossible. Kroger and the customer are your enemy. (They also s...

How do I request full time? Is there a form I need to fill out and turn in somewhere?

I was always told if youre scheduled 6 hours you get a lunch if you want it. And over 7 you have to take one. But a guy today got upset when a department head told him his 6 1/2 hour shift didnt get him a lunch. This is Indiana btw which has no state law on lunches.

Talked to our shop steward the other day and she tells me that negotiations on the new Atlanta/Savannah contracts are not going good. "They are very far apart" and I think this doesn't bode well. We're headed for a strike if we don't get major compensation improvements.

My son was 16 years old when he started working for Kroger's and he's 18 years old now. Early on we discussed whether he should join the union and due to his minimum wage pay and part-time hours, he decided not to join. Now, he's a senior in high school and is taking a career prep class, The teacher asked hi...
