If Kroger as it claims, is making less than two cents on the dollar profit,How the hell can they give our CEO Dave Dillon a 1.4 million dollar raise? Something don't sound right to me.
Chris I'm sure you agree' we work just to make the higherups money. raising minimum wage didn't help us because we already make more than the new minimum wage. thank goodness anything over 8 hours in a day or day 6 and 7 in a week is overtime. but the trick is they are reluctant to give it to us because it is considered shrink ( new term for loss ). I was used to working 9 and 10 hour days at a competitor but even when I gripe i still don't regret leaving there because I bring home more money and the boss was a @%^**@#$%^&*(*&^%$#@#.
Because this is what all big companies do. They take care of the goofballs at the top who got there by kissing every ass they ran into and as long as the stockholders are kept in the dark and happy enough, life goes on the same as always. The dumbass people at the top get richer and the ones who do the actual moneymaking for the company work harder for less with less help because the asses at the top decided to cut payroll to make more money for the stockholders so they will be happy and the asses at the top keep getting big bonuses. That my friend, is how big retail works. To make matters worse, these companies waste more fresh food than any of the stockholders could believe. These companies could and would make more money if they operated more efficiently. They could even use more help and do more business. It's the *******s at the top that only look out for themselves that is the reason for such waste and lost profit for the companies. If the stockholders only knew. And you don't even want to hear about the so-called buyers for these food companies. they are so crooked and another big reason for the failures of big time food retailers. One word for you- Kickbacks.
Poor Dave is only making $24,000 EVERY day. That is only $3,400 per hour. I think the associates that made Dave's salary possible should seek comparable wages.
Our contract was extended until the health care issues get resolved in Washington D.C. While I am a proud UFCW member, (local 700) I don't see us going out on strike when neogeoiations resume and its time to vote.
I agree...the customers and employees helped him get to where he is today. Where are the employee raises and how about putting a majority of that money towards lower prices. Greedy son-of-a-bitch!!!
