The store is way to damn big. It takes more than 30 minutes to go from on side of the damn store to the other. The f-ing managers do not care what they have to throw away along as there is food out. The waste that this place has is unbelieveable they are just throwing money away at an astonishing rate. First they pay 20 million dollars for a store that has thrown away at least 20-30 thousand dollars in chicken alone in 2 weeks. KROGER F-ING SUCKS MY BALLS!!!!!!!
Its called "write off". Kroger takes it out of taxes every chance they can. I see alot of frozen go down the chute, they could make a Markdown Door for discontinued or not in set items and give the shoppers some good deals. But they'd rather throw it away and get more selling it to Uncle Sam. They do throw away alot, I agree. Instead of marking it to sale, they'll knock it down 10% or 20%. They let that gun set the price which isn't much less than full price off the shelf. Mark it to sale I say,get rid of it.
I know exactly what you mean. The managers don't care how late you have to stay, they dont care how hard they work you for the money, they don't care that you only make minimum wage, they will still keep pushing more and more work on you. i go home covered in sweat almost every night because i work in the deli and im the only one that closes but we cant get a floor cleaner in there so every night i have to mop the entire thing by hand. they tell me to make sure i pull out the tables and mop under all of them.... we have 6 tables.... they tell me to move out the rotisserie and all the fryers mop under them do the dishes clean the slices that nobody else cleans for the entire day, clean the chicken case and all the holders, all the cake decorators crap, the flour bucket for breading the chickens, clean the fryers, the oven, the rotisserie, all the table tops, take out all the trash, pull apart all the chickens after 8:30 then take the trash out again because they always make me put on way to many chickens and that fill another garbage can by its self, season 6 cases of chickens a night, while also helping every customer that comes up to the deli. I am really sick of doing bakery jobs because they are against my union contract but the union wont do anything about it, so if the bakers leave any cookies or pie's then guess who gets to do that as well. me while getting paid minimum wage!!!!!!! Holy crap, deliman! That's a shift worth of work to do (not counting customer service, stocking, etc.). Let me guess, you have an hour (maybe 2) to get all that cleaning in. That's one of the few things I don't like about Kroger. It seems like they'd rather grind a clerk into a burned out mess doing 3 jobs instead of hiring a person to do the work. Sorry for the situation you're in. I did my time in that type of trench years ago. The job and the pay does get better over time. Seniority (time) helps a lot to get you better hours, position, and pay. At least it did for me. Hope things get better for you soon.
OMG, I totally feel like you do about the abuse that Kroger puts you through as an employee! You give them dedication, commitment, slave-like work in dangerous working conditions. The more you give, the more they take. They don't care that you are struggling living (and I use that term loosely) on $7.35/hr, barely give you Union required hours. They USEEEEEEE YOUOUUUUU!!!! The fat lazy so called managers waddle around pointing at things for you to do and most times, it's completely out of your dept. Once they realized that I could be pushed beyond human limits, they eliminated the part timer from 6-10. I had to deal with the work the a.m. people did as well as the daytime work, then expected to "condition" by 7pm! They lied, deceived, would never tell me how much I would be working for or if I would be full or part time. I would never have agreed to do HARD labor, part time for $7.45/hr. Now, I have union dues taken out of my paycheck which is the biggest rip off of all! They do NOTHING for us.... You are lucky if you can even find someone to tell about violations during your work shift. Kroger has made top sales which they totally brag about and they say, you are the ones that generate sales. Well, SHOW me the money. If you could hear what mr. wonderful (Wooten said) before he was "transferred"!! to another store, you would be sick to your stomach!!! He said that nothing in my career over the past 20 yrs counted. I was a flight attendant for Southwest as well as Continental Airlines. Really????? FAA clearance, the BEST in customer service!
As for the ice situation over the past couple of days! Really? Intimidation is what I experienced. What about you??? It wasn't worth risking wrecking my car or winding up in a ditch for the $20 I had coming for the entire week!!!
Oh... here we go.... I'm just getting started!!! The fat "Wanderers" that waddle around the store, not knowing what they're doing continuously come to me to help customers with their needs. There have been numerous times that the new "managers"!!!!! have thrown trash found on the floor into my neat pile of broken down boxes. They push, and push and make you feel like Q#$@%@#$ instead of thanking you for working what ass you have left after the cardio work out you perform while working your shift. The more ambitious you are the more they take advantage. I am a part-timer and they have USED me beyond belief to cover for their needs. They suck and I can't stand anyone there because they lie!!!!
