I am 22 yrs old and about to graduate from college soon. I have been at Kroger since age 17. How does one find out job postings within the company that are not entry level and may require a degree? Are there postings on the Express HR site?
Kroger offers great opportunities for college graduates. I'd talk to your supervisor and see about the new position they are offering. Head Utility Clerk! You work 7am-3Pm Monday through Friday, No weekends. You get to push in all the shopping carts that were left out in the parking lot the night before by those lazy night shift sack boys, you get to make the bathrooms look real nice and clean, and you can boss the other baggers around! GO FOR IT!
Yea, theres always room for someone to put Fruity-O's or Vinerial Sausages in the shelf. If you can pass yourself off as retarded, the government will pay Kroger half you wages.

Its actually fairly simple. You will want to talk with any combination of three people. You can talk to whoever does your time and attendance for other stores looking for department heads, your hr coordinater, or your store manager. You probably wont get a m-f 9-5 but if you can get in as either a department head or a co manager you will most likely be making more than many of the other people you graduated with. Prove yourself there and see if you can get in with any corperate projects, key retailing, grand opening sets, and so on. I ended up changing depts. working in a deli for 4 months, getting a backup position, 7 months later I was a dept. head and now I'm in with multiple different district managers, coordinaters, and other corporate level people. I will mostly likely be in a corporate office in the next 6 months for either comanager training or other positions. Just work hard make good contacts and make it nosecret that you arelooking for more
Educated are we ? Do you have common sense? Are you an "Internal"? Are you a woman or minority? If you are of the latter - your there! White male need NOT apply! Current 5 year plan (search the Barneyweb) calls for 70% minority, 20% women, and the last 10% who will actually be considered a working, productive associate. Doubt what I write? Look for yourself.
HR express is simply for direct deposit and pay stubs. THERE IS NO JOB POSTINGS THERE> Every one who works at Kroger is given a EUID number to access Express HR and other sites. Go ask your HR coordinator to give it to you along with a p/w!
Damn - how can all these employees not know about Express HR!
The Barney web is basically Krogers main page that managers and some other employees navigate to get things done. On there is a job posting site.
Best way to get a better job is to speak up!
