So a few days ago I was offered a new position of Backdoor Receiver and was wondering how difficult the job is. Is it a difficult process, checking in vendors? Is checking in vendors the only thing that a receiver does or are there additional job tasks? I've heard we have to go through all of the nasty damaged/spoiled products, is that true?? Would I get any kind of pay raise? Anything else helpful I should know about the job before I decide to take it? From what I've seen them do, it seems like an easy job, but I was just wondering if there was more to the job than meets the eye.
You should make sure you get full time status, if you don't all ready have full time.
You control the whole backdoor. You make sure it's clean and tidy. Everything has a place in Key Retailing, the backdoor is no exception.
You count every product (including fed ex, ups etc.) as it comes in and scan it in. Make sure vendors pick up their pallets, and they don't leave with product. Call vendors if they leave a mess or need to pick up credits.
Make sure all credits get picked up daily. A lot of times, they don't want to take them or do them.
Lots of stuff gets placed at the backdoor, as a dumping ground and you gotta sort through the good and the bad. This means store returns, damages, decorations, and other odd ball items.
You also do reclamations. Sending back bad product for credit.
Expect your name to called 100 times a day, by employees, management and vendors.
I've worked in almost every department at Kroger and backdoor is the easiest position.
