How can we get our hours back pharmacy techs? We bust our A$$#@! off for kroger to keep the customers and business as they launched into what i say the worst thing they invested in, the eprn system! Now they are finally figuring out they have gone in the hole because they overbudgeted for the system and it is a reject from walgreen,s pharmacy because they couldn't run their business and stay afloat. Well walgreen's had more sense to get rid of it than kroger did. I hear customers say all the time they'd be as well off to go wait at walmart and everybody knows how slow they are. We also have transferred a lot of rx'x to walmart and walgreen's that originally came to us because they didn't like the wait time and how they were treated. They felt like just another number in line well it seems that's what kroger is all about now. The customers like to be treated like they matter and they do to me because without them I don't have a job, however it's coming to that now with the hours cut. I am full time and now I don't get enough hours to qualify for part time. The pharmacists are struggling to have the help they need in order to counsel the patients. If i'm not mistaking they were all about that freeing the RPH up to be able to talk with patients and counsel more, what the crap is this all about now cut tech hours?? Of course they needed us more when they first launched eprn now they've lost business they don't need us anymore. Well I don't think the people from corporate offices are going to bring their lazy asses to do any physical hard work.. They wouldn't know where to begin on the system or to work in pharmacy. They do not realize how hard the techs work and just how much we do. We are the ones that work one on one with the customers and their needs day in day out and the pharmacists know that and they fight for us but not getting anywhere with the big wigs. So techs we are gonna have to stand up to them ourselves and fight for our hours and jobs!!!! Who's with me on this??
AH...your not getting the hours back, plain and simple. This isn't your store manager directive, this is G.O. dictating what your Pharmacy needs (and we all know how smart they are!) If your like us, the complaints are bountiful and the threats of taking the script elsewhere - well, if G.O. doesn't care, then why should you. Ah yes...Customer first! "Decisions closer to the customer"...yea, RIGHT! Remember the movie the Wizard of Oz? "If I only had a brain..." sing that tune the next time a customer rips your face off for service.
I don't know how it is at your store, but if it's anything like mine, the techs do the majority of the day to day tasks and the pharmacists main job is to check your work. Ok, so maybe my pharmacists are extremely spoiled. I single-handedly control the inventory of the pharmacy. I do all the ordering and all the returns. If you or another tech is in charge of this, let it go. DO NOT send returns. You don't have the hours anymore to worry about it right? DO NOT cut down your orders. I am not saying this will definitely work, but they will start to notice when your inventory gets $20,000 or more out of control. Multiply that by all stores in your district and we are talking major money just sitting on shelves. When they ask you why it's so high, tell them you don't have the hours to do it.
OH YES I HAVE SEEN AND HEARD ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THEIR POOR INVENTORY ISSUES SINCE I HAVENT BEEN DOING IT AND I AM NOW TO WHERE I PRETTY MUCH GO IN LIKE 2 OTHERS AND SIT ON MY STOOL AND DRAW A PAYCHECK IT SEEMS THATS HOW THEY GET TO KEEP THEIR SAME 8-4 MON -FRI SCHEDULE. WE HAVE 3 TECHS THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO BE FULLTIME BUT ARE GETTING CUT MORE AND MORE HOURS EVERY WEEK AND WE ARE THE ONES THAT ALWAYS HAVE KEPT THE PLACE RUNNING NOT THE OTHER 2 OR THE RPH OURS ARE SPOILED ALSO. MANAGER IS NOW SEEING THAT OUR JOBS HASNT BEEN A BREEZE BC THEY HAVENT HAD TO DO ANYUTHING BUT VERIFY. AND OF COURSE SOMEBODY ELSE ALWAYS GOES BEHIND OTHERS AND FIXES THE SCREW UPS THEY MAKE. OUR INVENTORY HAS BEEN REPORTED TO BEING OVER $67,000 OVER. OH WELL THEY DID IT AND IM TIRED OF BEING THEIR PUPPET ON A STRING. THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE AND I HATE TO HAVE SUCH A BAD ATTITUDE BUT THIS SUCKS AND IM DONE PICKING UP THE SLACK FOR THE OTHER 2 THAT DONT EVEN NEED TO BE WORKING IN A PHARMACY BECAUSE BELIEVE ME IF U SEEN SOME OF THEIR RX MISTAKES I WOULDNT GET A RX FILLED THERE. TRUST ME I DONT LET THEM 2 TOUCH MY RX WITH A TEN FOOT POLE ITS SCARY THEY ARENT CERTIFIED AND COULDNT PASS THE EXAM
IM SO DESPERATE FOR ANSWERS ABOUT MY KROGER PHARMACY THAT I SEARCHED THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THERE WAS A CHAT ROOM! I HAVE BEEN A TECH FOR 3 YEARS IN MARCH AND I LOVED MY JOB AT FIRST...NOW THEY HAVE CUT 18 HOURS OF OUR PHARMACIST HOURS AND OVER 20 OR 30 OF OUR TECH PER WEEK! I STILL GET ABOUT 40 HOURS A WEEK, BUT I BUST MY ASS FILLING OVER 300 RXS A DAY WITH ONLY TWO MORE TECHS (and) WE HAVE A DUMB ASS PICK UP WINDOW OUTSIDE WHICH IS OPEN IF WE ARE! SO THATS ONE PERSON ENTERING, ONE PERSON AT FRONT REGISTER AND ONE PERSON THAT HAS TO ANSWER THE PHONE,DO THE ORDERS,PRODUCT DISPENSE, AND RUN BACK AND FORTH TO THE OUTSIDE WINDOW.WE NEVER HAVE TIME TO DO **** BECAUSE WE ARE ALWAYS AT A WINDOW OR ON THE PHONE!!! IM SOO SICK OF IT AND I PLANNED ON MAKING THIS MY CAREER BUT FORGET IT! THIS PLACE IS RIDICULOUS AND THEY DO NOT PUT THE CUSTOMER FIRST.IF THEY REALLY CARED THEY WOULD HIRE ENOUGH PEOPLE SO THAT **** COULD GET DONE AND NO BASKETS WOULD GO LATE AND ORDERS COULD BE CHECKED IN BEFORE 7 AT NIGHT!DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO WE CAN CONTACT TO VOICE OUR OPINIONS...IM NOT LAZY IM JUST SOO DESPERATE FOR HELP!!
