I,ve previously posted about the lack of attention to u-scan on the overnight shift in Memphis and apparently it was not just limited to our store.Between 2-3am two hooded thugs came in and got all the cash out while the attendant was on lunch and the grocery manager was filling in but was not aware anything had happened. The two thugs went to another store and did the same thing. They attempted to hit a 3rd store but were noticed by an employee near the front and hurried out.Our grocery manager said that we needed security at night but the company says we need to make 500 dollars over operating cost for the shift to justify it,which we don't.Our store was told to do some of the security measures they were lax on such as blocking unused checklanes off with baskets and staying closer to the front when the cashier is on lunch.With school fixing to get out for the summer and Memphis being the crime capital that it is, I wish we could just close but as long as sales are over 2k for the shift,that is not going to happen. I,m thinking about getting some pepper spray and a knife to feel safer.
store I work at closes at 1 AM because of getting fed up with crime at night. We always have someone at the U scan, if the late night person is on lunch or break, the remaining ASCM is there.
488 in swkma closes at 1 am and there is always some one there at uscan. It is never un-attended. We are in a high theft area and uscan is not the problem. Registers are all off to the one side and anyone in the store has a near direct path from the front door to the Beer isle.
Stores around ours in Columbia TN refer to us as "THe Ghetto Store". Run down and dirty and in need of a complete overhaul. Dirt and cobwebs in the back room is older than me. THe newer store across town is being remodeled "again" while ours just draws flies like a light in the woods. THe other store now has a security gaurd but we don't. Go figure.
Personally in my opinion they need to close at Midnight or 1am. like other stores. Haji closes his convenience store doors at 10pm. He apparently knows more than some of those college degree totin' overpaid and underworked idiots running this 3 ring circus.
Wow, apparently everyone that works there is "ghetto" or nasty if they haven't cleaned the cobwebs that have been there since before you were born....LOL! Clean the place up and maybe other clean folk would want to shop there...lol!

Yeah, I work at the store across town from that "ghetto store." I've always said that 507 needed it more than we did, but whatever. We don't quite have our own security, but we do at times have two undercover cops walking around the store.
For outsiders to the area, 507 was built prior to dirt and not sure if it's ever been remodeled.
