i started my first day on the job yesterday and i still dont have a hourly wage. i didnt even punch in or even know how. the guy training me said theyd still pay me but im just probably not in the system yet. is this normal or should i be worried?
It's not normal, but sometimes when they need help they cut corners. There is always a time book somewhere ask at customer care/service booth. Second, never work without recording your time- this goes for any other job you have.
Depending on what department you work affects your pay rate. With prior experience you get "experience" pay. If you are a courtesy clerk you will make at least minimum wage. If you are a checker expect .10 more an hour.
Your pay rate depends on your union contract.
Ask your direct supervisor to put you in the time clock.
no its not my first job but it was said that the night b4 a worker walked out so they called me last minute. and i didnt have any experience but im a grocery clerk
and do you know if part time workers get benefits?
It's up to your union. I'm a part timer, I get the same benefits as a full time employee. You would need a copy of your union contract to find out when you would be eligible. Kroger is a great company in my opinion, but when our superiors cut corners it affects everyone including our customers.
You can search by state here http://www.ufcw.org/ Find your state then look for your union and contact them.
