Are other stores allowed to have water? We can only drink water from the gross drinking fountain.

We are not allowed to eat or drink on the floor it's very unprofessional but in our store receiving gets to over 95 degrees with very high humidity and we can have a bottle of water back there but only during the summer.

stores that I have been in, they are aloud to keep drinks outside when gathering carts. Cashiers are aloud to keep bottles water at the registers and only drink when no customersare around. But only bottles wather. Other drinks are not permitted in work areas. But it is done anyhow.

We're not supposed to have water at the register unless we have a doctors note.. but nobody's ever said anything to me about my water bottle so i'm going to continue to bring it to work

During my time in the front end, yes, they did "ban" drinks at the cash registers due to people constantly leaving open containers after their shift was over. So I'm guessing it's a store-by-store rule over the drinks.

my store actually gives us free bottles theres coolers in the front and at breakrooms i usually have a bottle in my pocket outside and inside were not allowed pop at the register because its sticky and can cause a real mess so water is fine and usually their for free.

It does seem to be a store to store issue. Do know that what I was told a few years ago, was no drinks at the register period. But Water was okay. Have seen several stores , take damaged water and let the employees have them in the summer time and hot days.

glad to hear my store's back dock isn't the only hot one.  I dred going onto the salvage trailer where the sun has been beating down all day long.  On the plus side, our dock has a fan, so the hot air can be moved around

The Kroger that i work at ban all drinking on the clock unless it is from the drinking fountian or on a break

i think it seems dangrous to not let the baggers water while on cart duty. espicaly when even when they get inside they have to wait to be okayed to go take a drink its a huge inconvience and a helth risk and will effect productivity at the store

to the person who developed this new practice i would like to say you sir are an idiot
